Clarkson was unable to get close to his sim laptime around Laguna Seca because the forces experienced on the corkscrew triggered a natural instinct to slow down, something he could not overcome in the real car. In a sim you can fly around it as fast as you want because it's a VIDEO GAME. I bet you'd spin out the moment you tried to track anything RWD and 300+ bhp lmao
Negged, I await counter negs because you seem like a petty little jealous bish who would do that.
Thats your evidence? lol. 10 years ago (when modern sims weren't even up to speed yet) some retard backwards muppet said this

Again, you have no idea what your talking about

I don't get the logic of retards who say the fact that youre afraid in real life is somehow saying sims don't translate.

I mean its literally the same, you have throttle, brake, steering, understeer, oversteer, grip levels and different degrees of all those elements. People keep acting like I didn't drive my high performance Z4 and drifted it around and felt exactly the same thing as I do in the sim.

Our pedals in sim racing are now more solid than real life pedals. Load cell brakes etc. Direct Drive wheels have more force than real steering wheels.

When I push a pedal in my car its the same throttle feel, same brake feel, same steering feel. Same tire feedback. The cars have the same calibrated speeds and brake levels. They have the same loss of grip feel in telemetry. It behaves the same when it drifts, or is on the limit or past the limit.

What exactly is DIFFERENT in real life? Like what do you think is actually fundamentally different? And that no sim devs can ever find a way to simulate physically? You really think its that impossible to create a physics model? Can you put into words what is actually different? Besides just saying you don't trust your skills in real life?

Like saying youre too scared to drive on the limit in real life (which is fine) doesn't have anything to do with the quality of todays sims.

I get that youre afraid because you have no driving skills. But that doesn't mean I don't have said skills.

Having a maxed out 5.0 A class license in iRacing like I do means you don't make mistakes for hundreds of laps at a time. I do dozens of races without ever even crossing one line or spinning out let alone not crashing when racing hard.

To me car control is comically easy I am way beyond that for 5 years now. If I was in your mythical rear wheel drive car I would easily master the throttle control after 2 revs and get the steering setup after swerving left and right.

If you were on track and blundered I would just jack-knife drift around you like the cuck you are.

None of you are anywhere near my level.

I once spent a year driving a forklift every day for 8 hours around million dollar engineering equipment in total danger at all times. To me spatial awareness and throttle control is a joke its so easy.

You have no idea how high my performance IQ has been developed to in the sims.

Just finally got back to my computer. Was on soccer fields most of the day. I know you are a vintage Ferrari guy, but got to check out a 1967 Miura today. Look back at 1967 Ferraris and see how ahead of it's time this car was. Truly stunning to see it and thought you might like it. I know Sinatra approved

Such a cool car. Wants to meet up and go for a ride one day. I was like HELL YEA. He also sourced an orignal euro exhaust (catless) which should be going on the car soon. I cant want to check it out!

It is one thing to just see a car sitting there. Another to get out and drive with it 'in the wild'. So much more dynamic looking. I was trying to shoot vid and drive at same time. My son did not roll with me this morn since I let him sleep in for his double header soccer game in 95 deg heat. Tough day!

Fun little bump to this thread. Today was my son's 3rd day of school. We skipped went to another track day. It was our first chance to get the Lotus out and see what it can do on the track.

MAN this car is so much fun to drive. The most connected I have ever felt to a car. It is a totally analog experience. No nannies, no power steering etc.

My son drove more than I did. I had to make him a booster seat about 2 1/2" so he can have a proper vantage point. The seats are non-adjustable race buckets in the car. I only had a chance to get out with him twice to teach him stick (which he is a very fast learner). I was nervous I was throwing him to the wolves putting him right out on the track.

He did AWESOME. Only thing I noticed was he was delaying his up shifts at times and letting off the throttle coming out of turns. He explained he could not let go of the wheel since he was pinning himself to the seat with both arms! You get thrown around a lot and I think upgrading to 4-point harnesses will be something we do sooner rather than later. Made total sense. I cant believe how well he did. What a great experience and fantastic car. Sooo much fun.

He was only about 2 seconds off my best lap time. And this is only the third time ever driving stick. The cool thing is all the guys in the group welcome him out there. That speaks a lot since we are out there with GT2RS's and GT3's. About half the group run Porsche, and the rest is a mix of stuff.

What a day...and memories were made!

Just ordered supercharger for the Elise, but going to learn to track it in it's N/A form and then put supercharger on it.
