Yeah they did Donan dirty.

Dude who defeated and sealed Astaroth, kept schit running for decades, goes through personal tragedy losing it all, then overcomes his grief with the peyote trip to do some crucial heavy lifting gets fisted to death by a random piece of furniture. By all accounts he's one of the most experienced and capable Horadrim and he goes out like some bimbo in a slasher movie. No idea why they couldn't send him off against Astaroth and what the fuking point of even showing Astaroth in Hell was.

I thought Neyrelle was ok, definitely a massive improvement over Leah.

Lorath on the other hand is just an insufferable ass. Yeah I get it, he's supposed to be disillusioned and cynical and whatnot, but he just felt like an alchie hobo tour guide pointing fingers to the next direction. Voice acting was on point though.

Now that I think about it he made a deal with the Tree for no reason at all, so that was pointless.

I also have no idea how Prava managed to survive.

Bruh I didn't even really think about it, but so true. Donan should've had a final square off with Astaroth in Hell for sure. A decent cinematic where he held down the fort to enable the player to get to Lilith or something, where it was clear he was losing maybe, final words w/ him and Lorath saved for post-Lilith fight. But maybe the death-by-furniture was a more surprising twist, definitely wasn't expecting it at least. Probably saved Blizzard some $$$ not investing in a Astaroth vs Donan cinematic and such though.

Neyrelle's story driven by death of mother, desire to learn and be horadrim, taking adventurous but foolish actions from time to time, loss of arm, all was well done IMO. And her wandering off with Mephisto at the end actually seemed like something she'd do with all the character development and getting to know her. Everyone and their mom knows it's a fantastic setup for a DLC.

Lorath's deal with the tree was kinda dumb. I get the urgency, I get the emotions and desire to self-sacrifice a bit for speed (especially after watching everyone else lose something.... Donan's son, Neyrelle's arm, and more), since Lilith is always multiple steps ahead of our characters the whole time. Plot had always been "catch up to Lilith and Elias", then "oh no they killed people and setup demonic/cultist influence", it became an obvious patternistic loop by Act 3. But regarding Lorath, I guess it sets up the expansions' story later for him to die and have his head next to Elias on the tree eventually.

Prava should've absolutely died. Total carnage occurred, that cinematic with her being overwhelmed by demons should've been the final nail on the coffin she was totally helpless. Dumb she lived. They should've done the cinematic a little different to make more sense of how she lived, unless they plan to touch on that later in the expansion in a flashback or something. They're just keeping her alive for the later expansions I guess.
