To be fair, I would not want to walk into some
crypt keeper level ghoulish, and boobytrapped tunnels full of people pointing weapons at me either. I think doing just about anything else sounds better.

Partially works, but if they were anything like the Vietnam tunnels gas doesn't work super well.

The ideas thrown about included gasing and lighting them on fire, which would probably be hard to do since they likely have vents, and entrances from institutions that would look horrible if they were exploded.

The other idea was to flood it with seawater, which might make more sense, but is more escapable. It would probably force people out in the open though, and their may be countermeasures for that in place too. We are talking 300+ miles.

Personally, I see nothing other than a dungeon grind and mess of bodies coming from this.

What about using those machines with cameras, have them explore first?

I’m not an expert, but that should be a good option in some situations. At least to neutralize traps. Just the size of the tunnels is wild though, this will not be easy imo, and time/loss of resources for those inside may be the game changer.

Any heavier than air gas would work. You could run a bunch of trucks or generators and pump in CO, if you really wanted to. Israel controls their electric grid, and without power they can't pump air in let alone gas out.

I don’t think they will go with vents. I think with that much space they will have controlled detonation set. Just an opinion. May make some parts of the tunnel smaller, but the thing is huge. This will have to be very well planned, with inside knowledge of the place.

Ok we both live in western countries and want the conflict to increase.

Israel conducting a ground invasion exposes them to a long and brutal fight that leaves them vulnerable.

It is the most retarded idea ever, unfortunately the Americans are a bit smarter than the Israelis and are discouraging them.

I really hope Israel goes in so they can be ground down.

Defeating Israel involves a long drawn out war that bleeds both Israel and the US.

Have no idea what kind of resources that Hamas has in their tunnels but maybe Israel is letting them get a bit hungry and thirsty first.

Hamas isn't a formal military organization protected by the Hague and Geneva conventions. They have murdered thousands of civilians intentionally, and kidnapped hostages, tortured civilians... They also violate the Hague by wearing IDF uniforms routinely. They are a terrorist organization. And when dealing with terrorists, there are no rules of land warfare.

I think IDF will starve them another 2 weeks, get as many hostages released as possible, and move as many civilians as possible. After that its gloves off

You were the type that was hoping for an Israeli ground invasion in 67, how did that work out?

Damage is inconsistent with even the smallest Israeli JDAM (MK-82) and too high for an Israeli GBU39B.

Damage is consistent with BADR-3 rocket that Hamas and Islamic jihad uses though. 280kg payload I believe, and poorly cased with the possibility of secondary burn which was caught on video in this case.
