depends on the bike you have. If you have a MTN bike, muckynutz makes a good one, or if you have an REI nearby, SKS makes one that works pretty well also.You can find it on Amazon as well

if you have a road bike, then you can get a full set of fenders at pretty much any LBS (local bike shop)

I picked up the StumpJumper Comp 27.5 alloy. I have a really nice Carbon road bike and I stress about it all the time. I wanted something I wasn't stressing about every time I rode.

So much fun! My riding buddy from yesterday (the photog for the pics), was on his first ride with his Domane SL6 with the new Ultegra 8020 (disc) grouppo...I was a little jealous.

Any bites on the outgoing etap machine?

fun weekend.

100.79 miles, about 3/4 of it gravel
6,270 feet climbing
Just shy of 8 hours total

good times

and before anyone says "slam the stem", 3 shoulder reconstructions surgeries and 2 cracked cervical vertebrae (which are now fused chunks of titanium) don't allow anything other than a riser stem.



side note - the Diverge's FutureShock is for real. It does a pretty damned impressive job. 30+ MPH downhill on washboard/gravel roads and it really cruised like I had 2" MTB tires, absorbed the chatter and handled predictably, not noodley or flimsy at all, and no noticeable bob

Speaking of slammed, do you think this is unsafe?

Bought bike from FB swap, it was already slammed, steer is obviously cut short, but is it too short? dangerous? Top cap still fits, bearings pre-load, and I can tighten the stem bolts down to 6nm.

Anyone know if I call Trek, will they sell me a new stem that hasn't been cut?

Would get a new head tube. Imagine your handlebar getting loose while descending with 60 mph.

u need a new bike fork because I don't think you can just buy a the tube.

The head tube is part of the frame. It's his steerer tube that's cut too short. You can try and find a low stack stem but I wouldn't ride it like that. You might need need to get a new fork.

Its secure, I can tighten both to 6-7nm, no wiggle, etc...I'm not that worried about it, just wanted to get opinions

I've been reading up on this and alot of stems actually specify that the steerer should be cut below the top of the stem in order for the top cap to fit in the gap and pre-load the bearings.

I think its fine, granted...I wouldn't have gone that short if I had cut it myself.
