Imagine investing in a woman ran fund with ARKK. lmfaooo good luck with your success goals of 2021. Can't trust women to run anything more than a kitchen tbh. So she bought ZM yesterday and doubled down on TSLA? What a moron. States are reopening and TSLA can swing down to 300 easily.

There was a big crude build but equally massive draws on gasoline and distillates, which means refiners will be gobbling up that new inventory

Yea, seriously. Worth $250 million and her flagship ETF with over $9 billion in assets has an average annual return of over 40% over the last 5 years. What a clown, she has no idea what she's doing.

Will OPEC play ball or they going to flood the market with increased production?

I seriously need to look into energy stocks.

Tech is cooling off a lot now.

Cathie said in an interview that she expects a "valuation reset" on her funds if there's a sharp upward movement in rates, and her plan would be to liquidate some holdings while doubling down on their highest-conviction positions

If the world opens up again and companies remain conservative in their capital plans, and they will because of the risk in deploying money after what happened last year, I doubt supply increases would be able to keep up in the immediate term. And the lack of investment since the crash in 2014 (accentuated by COVID) almost certainly means supply issues further out, closer to 2025/2026 depending on demand. Bringing significant amounts of new production online requires years of engineering, planning, and procurement, and the cyclical nature of the industry lends itself to supply issues in situations like this. Big boom, big bust, capital spending stagnates as demand eventually outpaces it and you're back at $100/bbl WTI.

Some bullish analysts are calling for $100 oil again too

Doesn't that stimulus seem unnecessary? If they can't target it towards the people who really need it...

People are already sitting on record amounts of personal savings and there's pent up demand everywhere, chit is gonna explode without stimulus when COVID is in our rear view mirrors

Not sure what you mean. Since March we’ve pumped trillions and we’re close to another couple trillion stimulus right before the economy fully reopens. I have no idea what will actually happen but the market is obviously concerned this could lead to overheating and the fed possibly hiking rates much sooner than later. That concern is leading to bonds dumping (why hold a 1% bond if you think the rate will be higher, your bond will lose value)

Posted this in main misc. Will post here too:

We saw a sharp sell-off in growth stocks due to a rapid rise in long-dated interest rates and it seems to me that the bulk of the selling is probably behind us. I don’t think this is anything to be overly concerned with for a few reasons:

1) The Fed has made it clear they will not make any changes to rates in the near future.

2) Rising interest rates is actually a good thing – it means the economy is doing well and economic activity is starting to pick back up.

3) The Fed is still expanding its balance sheet by purchasing $125 Billion worth of bonds each month. Historically, there is a tight correlation between this type of QE and the equity markets.

4) The primary trend in equities is UP and the major central banks are still buying assets/expanding their balance sheet. As long as this is the case, the path of least resistance for equities is likely to be UP.

5) Given the high debt levels all over the world, deflationary forces of ageing demographics in the developed world and technological innovation, I am of the view that long-term interest rates will not go much higher anytime soon.

Solid businesses which are rapidly growing should bounce back and the Fed’s easy monetary policies will continue to remain a tailwind for risk assets, in my opinion.

With this, I just put another big chunk of cash in this week.
Always Neg Back Crew.

Why would the fed rise rates? This could trigger a recession in an economic "recovery".

Why hold bonds at all when inflation is erasing them?

The fed/central banks only control short term rates through the purchasing of bonds, they have no power over long term rates no matter how hard they try.

The concern is unchecked inflation or hyperinflation which would leave the fed no choice but to raise rates. I don’t agree with it but that’s the growing concern. We’re in unprecedented territory these days with the amount of money printed over the past year.

Do they really care? They printed trillions for the lols during the pandemic dip, surely they would have foreseen this and have no plans to increase rates. Jpow can't be that much of a retard to get blindsided by inflation right? Right?
