I ended up getting 3.5 inches of rain and max wind gusts to 38 mph here Northeast of Raleigh. I never lost power although it did blink rapidly several times and lost internet for about 10 minutes once.

The Cape Fear River down around Fayetteville is going up and expected to crest at about 4-6 feet above the record level.

Tons of great pics and video and info in this article -

Also lots of great info on WRAL (Raleigh) -

https://www.wral.com/

They've been having excellent 24 hour live coverage including internet broadcast since about Wednesday.

And azzholes who live 4 hours inland are like "hurr durr this hurricane was no big deal, fake news".

I drove home from Atlanta to the NC/SC coastal boarder Sunday. Chef of Police said if you don't make it in today, you might not make it back for a week or two.
Normally a 6 hour drive, made the first 5 hours no problem. What should've been the last hour, took 5.

Saw many homes with 4 feet of water in them, water as high as the windows.
When I left Atlanta my route was clear according to SCDOT. Had to reroute many times because roads were recently flooded. Some roads I passed were open, then when I had to turn around I passed them again 5 mins later, were closed. Both major highways and podunk back county roads. As I got closer to home, started seeing a lot more Army/National guards vehicles, including (and I don't know why it was there) an actual tank.
All the hotel resort and motel parking lots filled with utility trucks. Met a couple in Atlanta from Charleston SC who worked for the Navy, the Navy ordered them to leave.

Glad you made it home safe. How’d the puppers do with such a long drive?

They didn't seem to mind at all. The two older ones slept 99% of the time. The younger one had his head between the front seats and seemed to be smiling. They were a little out of sorts in the hotel room, and were very happy to be home when we got there. When ever it was'nt raining and were were doing under 40mph i'd roll down the windows for them to stick their heads out. Then watch all the people point, laugh, and take pictures of them.

Hey guys

Thanks for all the well wishes. As I said before I don’t know my password to login at home. I stayed with my parents during the hurricane. As someone who lives in Wilmington and chose not to evacuate, this hurricane was scary as all hell. I will give you a day by day.

Thursday morning the sky looked eerie, tons of birds were flying away, I noticed a ton of frogs near my door trying to hide I assume. Thursday night is when it hit. Winds were howling, pouring rain. On ******** I saw people losing power and figured I’d be next. I went to bed that night with the wind blowing fiercely.

Friday morning when I woke up I still had power! I went outside and everything was calm. The eye was directly over me. No rain, mild wind, it was pleasant. Around Friday afternoon it picked up again. It was as it the hurricane gods gave Florence a halftime speech bc the winds and rain were even stronger than before. I was again prepared to lose power and for this storm to be over, but come Friday night I still had power somehow and this storm still wasn’t finished.

Saturday morning the storm was still strong however had moments when it completely stopped with no rain and mild winds. Out of nowhere around noon my power finally went out. I decided to take a drive to my house that I just closed on a month ago. Driving through Wilmington looked like a warzone. Cars flooded in on certain roads, Waffle House completely packed (lol), trees knocked over. I had a tree in my backyard and I was convinced it fell down onto my house. I was anxious to see. When I arrived, luckily my house was untouched, however another tree I had in my yard was knocked over and absolutely demolished my fence that I had. The wind took out the rest of the fencing. Could’ve been worse! Was the storm finally over?

Saturday night still had no power and out of boredom from fapping nonstop the last 3 days, I went to bed at 9. It’s seriously depressing with no lights. I woke up to piss and saw that the lights came back on! My dad told me we were on the hospital grid, don’t know if that’s true or not, but whatever I had AC and light again. The wind started picking up and i kept getting alerts on my phone for flash flood warnings in my area. I went back to bed again. Around 1am I woke up again to the wind. I check my phone and notice that I had a couple of alerts for tornado warnings in my area. I look out the window and see water rushing down my street, nothing floodlike, but enough to make you wonder wtf was going on. The clouds were a grayish white and were spinning like crazy, the wind was so loud. I normally sleep naked and honestly had to put shorts on in case my parents came in and asked me to go to another room for safety. I swear there was a tornado right near me somewhere. I checked this website and indeed there were a few tornadoes right near my house. Honestly thought I was going to die. I was up until 3am just curled in a ball.

Sunday morning everything died out and although we had some rain, the storm was finally gone.

I’m sure you’ve seen all the pics online and many of the places I’ve been too. It’s truly terrifying to see water at those levels.

Luckily this hurricane died down to a category 1/2. Who knows what a 3/4 would’ve done.

Thank you again for checking up on me. Hope you enjoyed the read and visualize what I went through.
