The key point is that nobody finds you attractive anymore when you lose your looks, so who fuking cares?

Do tattoos make an undesirable old person even more undesirable or summat? They have stories they can tell, like when they got their tats/ what they meant to them, and aren't going to later on regret not getting a tattoo because they didn't listen to a bunch of prudish *******s using retard logic for why tattoos are bad.

This.

I have tatoos and never perceived myself as a "tough guy" and got them when I was younger and foolish. No regrets though and I don't ever think about them in any capacity. Same can't be said for OP.

****en LMAO @ imbeciles itt still arguing with a guy who is so deluded, pompous, and arrogant he has created a thread in which he invites people to ask him questions about anything and he will answer them despite having no special knowledge or authority on any subject whatsoever, then links to it in his sig. And it's not tongue in cheek on any level either, the guy is completely serious. Just lmao at the level of self-importance he credits himself with, it's truly astonishing.

ALso ironic that the guy loves breaking people's balls for how stupid it is to get a tattoo when they will ultimately look like trash, when the guy is sitll rocking the boy band goatee from the early 2000's. Truly pathetic.

People with tattoos tend to be very passionate individuals. You need go no further than these threads to realize that. I also have the feeling that any data presented here would simply be dismissed as unsubstantial, unreliable or simply someone's opinion even if it were posted.

Nevertheless, here is one exert in a quick search I found from below:

"You’re incredibly nave or in total denial if you think your tattoos aren’t going to have a significant positive or negative influence on people who don’t know you well."

How you view this is up to you. But in any event, you can't force someone to believe something that puts them in a less than ideal light. Still, tattooing is now an industry, and when people with similar interest like tattoos come together, its not a bad thing.

In fact, it was a one time not too long ago that bodybuilders were considered weird. Despite its proliferation that attitude still exists for some and in many places. Particularly with the use of synthol to reach absurd proportions.

Not that I'm claiming they're abnormal; it would take lot more dysfunctional behavior to determine that. Rather, that there are precursors and indicator that can manifest, and tattoos, esp.excessivetattooing is one of them.

People get tats for different reason. Only inmates/gang members get it to intimidate other people (because in fact they are coward inside and tattoo helps them hide it) but they have good enough reasons to do so or they'll get killed. Saying that tattoo makes other people judge you is absurd. People are gonna judge you for everything. If its not tat its gonna be your height, ugliness or opinion. People miss their dead loved ones, they get a tattoo in their memory. Does that mean they hate them?

This has changed recently though. A lot of guys just do it because women have followed the herd into thinking they're attractive thanks to Instagram.

Before Instagram, this was achieved with piercings and "edgy" clothing alone. Only, you could let the piercings heal after some time. And you can change clothes.

I have a lot of tattooed friends who have a few tattoos they genuinely like, and some they regret, but for all of them the true reason they got was to look more appealing. Of course, each tattoo has some BS "story" that can be told to entertain girls.

And, there's nothing wrong with that. I'm even seeing guys get hired into nice corporate jobs with visible arm tattoos now. For guys who don't believe in them, you just have to have other positive traits to compensate.....or just use it as a crutch idgaf.

But tattoos will not go out of style anytime soon, like it or not.

I don't know a single person like that, so I'm not sure where you're getting this. Maybe I just don't hang out with a crowd like this.

That's too general. Pretty much anything that's out of ordinary will fit in what you're saying.

Seems like a bunch of cope from someone reaching hard to explain their own disdain for tattoos vs. explaining why a person objectively gets a tattoo.

Shooting the messenger? But how do you explain the countless articles, books, studies, etc, which have nothing to do with me?

Basically beating around the bush and finding a nicer way of saying "not everyone who is dysfunctional has tattoos but everyone who has tattoos have the potential to be a dysfunctional person".

To be honest, I thought you were quoting someone else when all that was posted. So, truthfully, my response remains the same to all of those people. It seems like nothing short of people (reaching here, but most likely Christians) desperately trying to rationalize why tattoos and marking your body is wrong and mentally unhealthy. It's like people who think that men who grow their hair long want to be women, or men who don't wear suits and conform to specific fashion standards are lazy and unmotivated.

Just a bunch of conservative hamstering, but that's just my opinion.

The author doesn't even reach a conclusion and states he himself has four tattoos.

It is crazy and stupid for the reasons I mentioned, none of which have to do with any magical belief system.
