Maybe she got hit by a yellow jacket. I know they live underground sometimes and are mean as fu. My wife got hit in the ankle a few times as we were walking our dog. Her ankle was very swollen for a few days as well.

Guys, are all pitbulls "bad"? "Instinctively" are they more violent than other dog breeds?

Would you trust one around a small child?

Could've been a sting from one of those f*ckers for sure, it sounds like. My poor Lily.

THis probably won't answer the question but a great read is, "Pitbull: Battle Over an American Icon" it gave me a great education on the breed's reputation.

Legz has dealt with many pits and pit mixes, she'll likely be weighing in here

Edit: Too late

There are thousands upon thousands of pit bulls out there in the world who are absolutely wonderful with children. They are loyal, loving dogs who want nothing more than to please their human just like every other dog. With that being said, since they are illegal in your country, I don't agree with your neighbors having one. I think it's a srs shame that they would buy a dog they know is illegal and will be put down if found out. Does your country just destroy them or ship them to where they're allowed? I would hope they try to find adopters in area's where they are allowed.

Only you can make the decision to report the dog. This isn't just an issue because you don't like the breed, but because they're illegal there. I can't fault someone for reporting something that's illegal.

I would love a new cat still, someday. But I think ahead and know I have other pets it could view as prey. I had a persian, I posted pics of her years and years ago, but some Miscers called her ugly, And said my boxer (who was in the picture with her) looked like they were harassing her. I loved her doe!

That was mean of them to call your kitter ugly.Kitters are great, but I'll prob never have another one now that my last 3 have passed. I hate cleaning kitty litter. Would rather walk my dog 3x a day. lol

No they are not all bad, have met a few pitbulls that were very nice. All dogs have the instinct to attack if they feel threatened.

The cat has some maine ****** in him. He can be mean, but it's my sis' only pet. He's spoiled, but nasty sometimes. If she points at him and tells him "NO!" for some reason he swats her finger or hand away.

Lily is back to normal thankfully. Yes the fluid is gone, and her face is back to normal. She didn't eat her breakfast this morning so I came home noon just to give her a meal then. I put some chicken in it. Appreciate your asking! They mean a lot to me, the boxers.

It's like I am saying though, you have no idea how big this cat really is unless you see him up close.

Great, my GF loves her to pieces. Blackjack favors me, he's a little slower compared to Lily. But love the guy, he's like a big husky teddy bear.

I got mine two of these toys recently:

Then there's those dog toys shaped like a big rubber dildo that you may enjoy. ... Which I need to shut up cause it's giving my a chubby thinking bout that.

He's a Carolina dog. I got him at a rescue and he seemed to be a sweet pup. I did a DNA test on him out of curiosity and it came up all over the place. When I brought him to the vet a few months ago one of the assistants said, "oh you've got a Carolina dog" so I went home and looked into it. Here's one of the pics I found that convinced me the tech was right,

got to drive 45 minutes to and fro to get the good dog food for mine. I feed mine Fromm. I guess I'll say that. Even if there's a lot of debate among dog food brands, and raw diet instead. I worked at a vet clinic and kennel board years and seen dogs brought in with issues due to all sorts of diets, so it's the owners call of course. Gotta research make your guess what's best for them!

So glad Lily is all better! That toy looks fun, do they like it? My pupper has a Kong wobbler that he eats his dinner out of every night. It's good brain work.

Soooo cute! I love when mine has dreams and he growls and does what I call the puppy woofs.

I feed my boo Blue Buffalo. It's expensive but worth it. I've heard that the Kirkland brand at Costco has high quality dog food that's way less expensive, but it's way too far out of my way so I've stuck with Blue Buffalo. The funny thing is if I'm running out and grab a bag of cheap stuff at the grocery store to tide him over a day or two he acts like that's the best food he's ever eaten! lol
