The fact she had a big 'ol neck/chest tattoo is enough to warrant a strong shrug toward her getting shot.

You guys saying you want people to be able to flee without the police using force on non-violent crimes... where is the line for violence? DUI? Burglary certainly isn't nonviolent but I'm sure you'd be pissed if someone broke into your house, stole your chit, and the police just let him walk away.
Trust me, my job as a cop would be a lot easier if this were the case, but the reality is force lets us put millions of people in jail a year, peacefully (the only "force" being grabbing them and putting them in cuffs). There's normally about 10 million arrests a year. Only around 1000 of those end in fatal shootings (vast majority being justified) and only around 10 of those are what people get into a fit about when they see them on YouTube. 10 out of 10,000,000. Literally 1 in a million.
For the "1 is 1 too many" crowd... that's life, just the reality of the situation. It can be better, and generally is getting better, but acting like this is an epidemic of sorts is just stupid.

The cop then escalated the situation by assaulting her with a weapon, and she retaliated with a weapon of her own because she probably feared for her life, and was mortally wounded when the cop returned fire. The police should not be allowed to use force when someone has not harmed someone else or threatened to, even if they are trying to flee.
All drugs need to be decriminalized. If all he had to do was give her a ticket, this would have never happened. I'm not necessarily blaming the cop because he was doing his job, but the laws in place lead to unnecessary violence and death for both police and citizens. There needs to be reform, but it won't happen because the government profits from drug laws and the prison system.

Wincel in your own words you identify as a pro-totalitarian globalist.
Why do you believe that a global totalitarian government will better serve humanity?
The corporatists are not our friends.
Corporatist Totalitarianismis the creation of a state that disenfranchises the majority and funnels all decision-making, wealth, power and security to an integrated Corporatist few. They do this ostensibly on the basis that this few know better than the masses how to deal with crises, but in fact they know there just isn’t enough of anything left to go around any more. So, like alphas in an overcrowded rat cage, they deem it appropriate to lie, mislead and deny, and to hoard everything they can steal for themselves and let the rest suffer and starve.
What exactly is “Global Corporatist Totalitarianism”? I would argue that it has these attributes:
- the collusion among ‘leaders’ of governments of affluent nations and large global corporations to establish “we know better than you” policies that subordinate the interests of the public to those of the ruling group, and the concentration of wealth and power in that group
- the suspension of all rights and freedoms in the interest of being able to maintain order no matter how bad things may get
- the abandonment by the public of belief in the viability of participative representative democracy, due to constant and egregious abuses of the process by all political parties (once all parties are either controlled or eliminated by the ruling group)
- the control and use of the media to misinform, oppress and terrify citizens to cow them into submission to the ruling group’s authority
- a total surveillance state including the suppression of all dissent (of speech and action) under the guise of fighting “terrorism”
- financial and military support of, and collusion with, despotic leaders in struggling nations, sufficient to allow continued theft and desolation of their land and resources, the wage enslavement of their citizens, their exploitation as consumers of the ruling group’s corporations’ products and its governments’ weapons, and the usurious “lending” of unrepayable and crushing debts to these nations, the proceeds of which are personally appropriated and offshored by the despots as the price of complicity with these atrocities
the dismantling of all regulations, taxes and organized labour groups that inhibit the unrestricted accumulation of wealth by the ruling group
- the denigration of government as an appropriate agency for any purpose other than “security”, military and commercial imperialism, and fear-and-denial propaganda
If you’ve read The Shock Doctrine, you’ll recognize the growing presence of all of these attributes in our current political and economic systems.

yes

not all, but mostly yes
- the abandonment by the public of belief in the viability of participative representative democracy, due to constant and egregious abuses of the process by all political parties (once all parties are either controlled or eliminated by the ruling group)
yep too stupid to run urselves
- the control and use of the media to misinform, oppress and terrify citizens to cow them into submission to the ruling group’s authority
actually, the media must be controlled precisely to prevent the massive disinformation we have seen
- a total surveillance state including the suppression of all dissent (of speech and action) under the guise of fighting “terrorism”
If we are gonna be a police state, we might as well stop half assing it and use technology to prevent crime
This is some Marxist bs and some other garbage. International government and collaboration is the best way forward for the species. We can do it in a way that isn't exploitative.
- the denigration of government as an appropriate agency for any purpose other than “security”, military and commercial imperialism, and fear-and-denial propaganda
That seems to be all the GOP thinks it's for. But no, the globalists want to tackle things like climate change, pandemics, energy, etc.

Wincel my quoted material above is from a piece about the collapse of civilization working from Dmitry Orlov'sThe Five Stages Of Collapse.

You aren't a member of the club. The people that are in the club? They don't give a single damn about you, or even "the good of humanity". They are managing the situation as best they can to save their own butts.
There is more than one take on how to cope with this situation. The one I quoted from recommends that you look toward creating a stronger local self-governing community as a bulwark against the impending first 3 levels of collapse [financial, commercial, and political].

In “The Collapse of Complex Societies.” Tainter’s argument rests on two proposals. The first is that human societies develop complexity, i.e. specialized roles and the institutional structures that coordinate them, in order to solve problems. For an overwhelming majority of the time since the evolution of Homo sapiens, Tainter contends, we organized ourselves in small and relatively egalitarian kinship-based communities. All history since then has been “characterized by a seemingly inexorable trend toward higher levels of complexity, specialization and sociopolitical control.”
His second proposalis based on an idea borrowed from the classical economists of the 18th century.Social complexity, he argues, is inevitably subject to diminishing marginal returns. It costs more and more, in other words, while producing smaller and smaller profits.“It’s a classic ‘Alice in Wonderland’ situation,” Tainter says. You’re “running faster and faster to stay in the same place.” Take Rome, which, in Tainter's telling, was able to win significant wealth by sacking its neighbors but was thereafter required to maintain an ever larger and more expensive military just to keep the imperial machine from stalling — until it couldn’t anymore.
Complexity builds and builds, usually incrementally, without anyone noticing how brittle it has all become. Then some little push arrives, and the society begins to fracture. The result is a “rapid, significant loss of an established level of sociopolitical complexity.” In human terms, that means central governments disintegrating and empires fracturing into “small, petty states,” often in conflict with one another. Trade routes seize up, and cities are abandoned. Literacy falls off, technological knowledge is lost and populations decline sharply. “The world,” Tainter writes, “perceptibly shrinks, and over the horizon lies the unknown.”
I believe that we are here (complexity subject to diminishing returns). I have mentioned on the forum before that we have an economic system based on growth within a planet with finite resources. His second proposalis based on an idea borrowed from the classical economists of the 18th century.Social complexity, he argues, is inevitably subject to diminishing marginal returns. Usury [is] best viewed as a form of systemic, institutionalized violence, … a form of extortion: whenever you have two groups, one that has all the money and another that has none but needs it to live, the former can extort payments from the latter for temporary use of the money… [But] lending at any rate of interest above zero eventually leads to a deflationary collapse followed by a quick but painful bout of hyperinflation… A national default is inevitable if a country’s sovereign debt is very high [often, in struggling nations, due to loans incurred by corrupt leaders who squirrel the money away in personal offshore banks] but its economy is dwindling… Forcing that country to pay a “risk premium” [high interest rate] brings the day of default that much closer [and brings] about the very thing it is supposed to mitigate against.
Above from Orlov.https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/...#other_reviews
He concludes “…the world economic system is held together largely by the belief and faith that it will continue to grow. It’s a confidence scheme, in the purest sense.”
Limits to ecological growth are well documented in the book: global marine seafood capture peaked in 1994, global oil production is probably past its peak, and we are approaching peak coal, peak water, and peaks for several key minerals. Unfortunately efficiency, substitution, innovation, and other technological magic are insufficient to close the gap between our present consumption and earth’s limits.
He concludes: “We have accumulated too many financial-monetary claims on real assets—consisting of energy, food, labor, manufactured products, built infrastructures, and natural resources” to ever be repaid.

I believe that we are here (complexity subject to diminishing returns). I have mentioned on the forum before that we have an economic system based on growth within a planet with finite resources.

These idiots couldn't even wear masks. I have no faith in their ability to govern themselves anymore.

They are bought and paid just like everyone else.
Science, like everything else, has been used and manipulated to push narratives. The fact that you are unable to see it speaks to your lack of social intelligence

If this kind of chit keeps happening, black people are going to be so scared of cops that they will just shoot them the moment they think they will be arrested. We need to really look at the nature of force here. He really didn't need to cuff her right then. All of this could have been avoided. And idk why he couldn't just keep her detained in a civil manner until backup arrived.
What is dumb is she was being arrested over some weed. She lost her life over some fking weed man.

I'd even say burglary is violence even if nobody but the criminal is in the building due to the potential for violence if someone were. Someone commiting burglary knows it has the potential to put lives in danger, even if they don't plan to physically harm someone, so that wouldn't count either.
