just looked at that Tesla $360C leap...delta is 0.9 right inline for someone to sell covered calls.

atm $660 seems to be the floor for tesla.

Are your SU calls doing any better? Sucks they didn’t reinstate full dividends but saw some great debt repayment and $300m in buybacks

Give it a couple more quarters

Remember January/Feb where tech sold off AMD touched $100 etc.

They took those profits and parked it elsewhere.

They are balancing billions of dollars / have way more professionals and information on their disposal than we will ever have.

Like ask yourself why does Apple / Amazon sell off on the best quarters ever in history?

Also like I said above, looking at STLD / FCX / JPM charts like buying now seems stupid when its on way up. Could be peak right now.

i dont get the tech selloff post earnings, personally

i thought everyone was waiting for earnings to see if the stocks 'justified' their lofty prices, and agreed, they are lofty

but the earnings were fukking amazing lol. they beat everyone's expectations, which were already high. so imo, they totally justified their price

Please don't confuse stock picking with the market as a whole. For the month of April the market appreciated in value by around 3%, or an increase of $1500 had someone hypothetically put in $50,000 near the beginning of the month and invested in a low cost market fund. There tends to be a lot of sensationalism in this thread that I think rubs off on newer folks, thethis time its differentvibe.

Just advising him to play it smart, as this market isn't typical, there's a lot of fukkery going on.

I had nearly $70k a few months ago and that got quickly cut in half once the market started going sideways, so that's where my advice comes from. My holdings were also pretty safe. Would hate to see someone drop $50k in the market then two weeks later they lose half of it, because they were impatient.
The individual should have the equivalent of an IPS which defines their general investment guidelines such as risk tolerance. If someone has significant earning years ahead of them then temporary losses in net value should be nothing more than inconsequential noise over a 20-40 year investment window. Furthermore, if the money gets placed in a low cost index fund that tracks the market (e.g. VT/VTI) then it would take an unprecedented event for their investment to lose half of its value in such a short time. As I said in my last post, if someone is truly worried about this type of thing happening then DCA is a perfectly reasonable approach assuming it is automated / scheduled in advance while knowing that, statistically speaking, it is likely to result in an overall higher buy in cost.

Independent gig worker rule rescinded buy Biden. Uber and Lyft dumped. Could dump more as it will destroy their business model.

Pton down 20% for some kid killing himself and recall. Might be good long call but those are like $1500 per contract.

COIN going to have earnings soon which will probably blow out expectations. Could be a good move to pick up at this price just to sell after earnings.

Don't be mean.

Most investors here gained big last year from growth / tech stocks. Its hard to move away from what worked before. You might look like genius now with oil but how sure are you that is what holds by end of year.

If you want help offer suggestions whats working for you do it.
I offer genuine suggestions but sometimes I sht post, I'm a mixed bag homie lol, gotta take the good with the bad.

I'll alter the ratio to the genuine advice side for now.

I don't have much to offer right now though lol.

What we personally think means nothing, you want to be parked in where market is going not what you believe in other wise you will end up bag holding.

This year taught me that I don't know as much I thought. Last year was easy mode. It sure looks like it ain't anymore. Winners are still out there but its not easy to find them.

Once I have to go to cubical to slave away 9-5 July.

Just gonna stick with index funds and add few stocks long term monthly if they look good.

This is largely what my Etrade looks like. I have the vast majority of it in SPY, VTSAX and TRBCX and then I have some individual stocks. Largest positions are AAPL, AAL & XOM with a few others sprinkled in at much lower amounts.

Then my 401k is all funds (mostly FXAIX & FCNCX with some small cap, mid cap and bonds . . . I had moved some away from bonds earlier in the year).

Anyone in VIAC? Thought on tomorrow's earnings? They're scheduled to announce before the morning bell, so is this a sign the numbers are better than expected or that they don't GAF what happens when trading resumes?

Right, and now those tax dollars are essentially going to the rest of the world. That’s retarded.

Not sure if I am understanding you're point.

Every modern country gave huge amounts of tax payer money for development.

Pfizer already increased the price of individual vaccines they charge.
