With my wife going back to work later this week and little man doing pretty good sleeping through the night, we had a test run this weekend with 78novacaine Jr in his crib in the nursery rather than our room. I'm happy to announce the test run was a raging success. Saturday night and last night baby boy slept in his own room with zero interference from momma or daddy and no issues. Stoked brahs!

That is a massive milestone. Don't let him come back to the room with you though. It'll be tough at times but you must stand your ground on this. My sleep has barely been interrupted by fatherhood due to this. Eventually he'll realize he's sleeping in there no matter what he says

Just got out of the 12 week ultrasound. All is good, no signs of anything wrong. If we were in a bar, drinks would be on me. Huge milestone for a healthy baby come March. One of my biggest fears of not to have a healthy baby.

All downhill from here brah, dead srs.

That is a quality of life upgrade for all three of you, since he'll sleep more soundly as well.

Pretty soon he'll be sleeping 8 hours every night and you'll be 3/4 of the way home. Next upgrades is "if you put a plate of finger food in front of me I can feed myself", holy chit it's like the promised land.

We put our son in his room at 6 or 7 weeks when he started sleeping through the night. I'm looking forward to those days and when I can start getting him into hobbies, but I also know I'm gonna miss this stage, so I'm trying to soak up every bit of tiny baby time that I can. It's frigging nuts how much he has grown already. My wife showed me a side by side pic of him on my chest at about a week old and then one she just took a few days ago. It was mind blowing.

That's our plan brotha. Sounds like you got it handled. Mine went to my moms house for a week this summer and the first night she called me shocked. She said at about 9 (we usually put him down around 730 or 8) he told her "Granny, I'm tired and going to bed", grabbed his little blanket and put himself to bed. Kids thrive on structure and routine.

Took the kids camping over the weekend with extended fam. Had a great weekend hiking and messing around in the creek there. They didn’t want to leave. Loved seeing them enjoy nature so much.

Dasit man. It can be scary at first, when you start thinking what might be wrong. Getting the all clear is a huge relief.

Mirin, these are the types of memories they will have from a very young age, and keep for life. For myself, I can't remember my bedroom or daycare, but I have vivid memories of the outdoors.

My father always told me he used to dig a slight hole in the back yard and put me in it while he was gardening so I couldn't roll away. I couldn't remember it, and was never sure if he was serious - until I did the same with my boys, lol

I just purchased this travel trailer for making such memories. Little 18 foot Jayco. 2012 model but it appears to be well taken care of. I was looking at the manual the other day and whoever owned it made notes and highlighted stuff all in the manual. Made me happy to see such care taken.


Daughter just had her 6 week checkup the other day. 10 lbs 4 oz. Perfectly healthy little girl we have. She's our first so super grateful for that. Apparently she is suppose to get 4 shots at her 2 month appointment. 2 in each leg. Seems excessive to me for such a little body, and wife isn't exactly pleased either.

Being anti-2nd Amendment is like saying "We have too many rights, please take some away!"

My little man just turned 3 and a half. When he was smaller I didn't think he looked like me except for the shape of his face and his eye color. That has completely changed. His physique looksexactlylike mine right down to the insertions. His toes are even shaped like mine lol. Poor child doesn't have a stitch of meat on his midsection to the point where you can see his abs when he flexes from doing something. His thighs, butt and shoulders are the only places he isn't bony. His teachers probably think we starve him when its the opposite. I let him eat pretty much anything since he if doesn't get food he likes he's fine just not eating which is something else he got from me.

His facial expressions are copy pasted from his mother as well as 95% of her personality. He got that extreme extroversion and quick temper.

One recent development that surprised me is that he now makes fully formed arguments when he doesn't wanna do what I tell him. The first time he did it I was taken aback to the point where I reverted to "You do what I say cause I'm your Daddy". What age do they usually start doing that? I'm pretty worried about my nephew since he just turned 3 and doesn't really talk. He'll say words occasionally but it never really makes any sense. He makes good eye contact and is always laughing and smiling so I don't think he's autistic or anything. Maybe he just needs a little speech therapy or something. Any of you guys dealt with anything like that?

Our little man is getting frigging hyuuuuge. Took him like 6 or 7 weeks to get back to his 8# birth weight. He hung around there for a couple weeks then started a massive dreamer bulk. He has gone from ~8 to a little over 15 pounds in less than 2 months. Boy is chonky and happy as can be.

So, a week ago my 5 year old comes out of the bathroom. He's been potty trained for years, but got help wiping his bum when he pooped. He started kindergarten so we got him trained to take care of himself. Anyway, he comes out and announces excitedly "I pooped, but when I went to wipe, nothing was there." Repeats it a couple times as if he can't quite believe it himself. Watching your kid discover one of the simple pleasures in life = priceless.

Ahh memories. I am also a bit afraid of needles so getting shots is something I don’t look forward to. 12 years ago we had to take my son in for one of his shots and the four of us (me, wife, and 2 nurses) just could not hold our son down! So I took him outside in the waiting area and was trying to calm him down. A few minutes later one of the nurses came right out in the reception area to give him a shot. I swear the needle was so close to me that my son almost slipped out from me. Finally told the nurse to stop and I sat down and then she was able to give him a shot.
