It was a real wake up call. I know diabetes and alcohol doesn't mix safely, but that really put it in perspective. Especially having a couple friends thinking I was just making an ass of myself

They know now what really happened, though, so I feel a little better.

lol at my best friend. "WHERE'S YOUR 19?!?!"

apparently I drank enough that I didn't feel the hypoglycemia symptoms and the orange juice in the screw drivers kept me alive. scary as fuark not having memory of a 4 hour span and knowing I nearly died. The friends (coworkers) at the bar with me said I was mumbling incoherently and they didn't understand how I could be that drunk after only a few drinks.

When my buddy showed up he was smacking me on the cheek saying "DUDE, WHERE'S YOUR 19? WHERE'S YOUR 19?????" which I had left locked in my car because I don't drink and carry. He retrieved it for me and made sure it made it home with me.
as if having a drink or two while carrying isnt bad enough...minor hallucinations...

chit dude. glad to hear that you're alright + having responsible friends.

Yeah, I don't mix liquor and guns in any capacity. Ethically on a personal level and legally my issuing agency mandates it.

My blackout had all out hallucinations. It's happened before related to my glucose level (this has happened maybe 3-4 times in 20 years)... it's like I go into a dream state where I'm still awake. I remember nothing but what my friends told me matches everything that's happened in the past.

Magpul must've been cranking 10+ cap mags on every machine they had 24 hours a day in preperation for the election results they expected.

Cabelas also has DPMS oracle 5.56 for $499. Pretty cheap for a complete bang around carbine.

I think there will be some big bargains in the coming months as they bring inventories back down from election production mode.

Can't add it to the cart though because they don't have the magazines WTF. Might give them a call later. Can get it transferred to local FFL for $10, wonder what shipping charge is?

Hope so. I'm in IL and thought it was hilarious when the concealed carry act they fourced to create nullified Chicago's restrictive handgun regs. Hope the same thing happens nationally so all the nanny state legislatures can go f themselves.

Jesus, I'll try. TBH it made me really reconsider drinking at all. Luckily the co-workers I was with were cool, but had someone decided to call 911 the only local hospital I could go to is the one I work at. It could have been all bad news.

Never had an alcohol related issue before with diabetes. One time is scary enough tbh.
