Nah, Trump's re-election chances are very strong.

Biden is the "sacrificial lamb" candidate where you look back after the election and say, "Of course he lost in a landslide, how could anybody have thought it would be any different?"

Biden is similar to when the Republicans ran John McCain with Sarah Palin as his running mate. At the time with media hoopla you thought there was maybe a chance, but in reality they were just rewarding a longtime party member for his service and everybody on the inside knew it wasn't going to happen.

From what I have seen so far, a lot of the discussion concerning this SC vacancy surrounds the fact it occurred right before the election. The last time this happened, the appointment was intentionally delayed. The language used as justification to intentionally delay the appointment was the upcoming election. If Trump has this election in the bag, then it doesn’t matter if he waits or not.

I think it speaks more to Biden's growing legal operation than to the actual election. It also speaks to a desire to get it off the table quickly so it doesn't get used as an issue in the election.
