Wife and I went through that multiple times. The worse was a placenta abroption at 9 months 2 weeks pregnant- she had to deliver the baby knowing it was still born, and her blood platelets were too low for a c section- had to go regular. Happened on the same year her mother died(the day before our wedding)


She spiraled into quick depression, and quickly fell inadequate / self blaming. I quickly realized it was my role above my own heartfelt sorrow of loss - to help her. The biggest approach I took was "get back on the saddle" don't give up- made an over the top effort for positive motivation- got her preggo 4 months later- had 1st baby.

In between that and my 2nd child 5 years later we probably had a total of 5 miscarriages- 2 of them past 12 weeks. (one was another really sad story that was caused by intimidate needed stress- for another day)


We've chalked it up to an autoimmune disorder she has. Not sure though.



What I'd say is be very cognizant of her true feelings, and reassurance towards her. Remember your role above all is the male leader here, above and beyond your own hardship in feelings.


Hope things work out for ya'll brah, don't give up, put your mind to it- make it happen

Duel major in philosophy and political science with intentions on going to Law school.

He has specified areas based on highest probability for entrance into certain law schools, GPA consideration, and LSAT score.

He was top ranked GPA (2nd for those in the building) in his high school class and entered his freshman year last year with enough credits from AP classes, etc, that starting his sophomore year with enough credits to be a junior- and enough where he could graduate next fall.

He may add either Business or economics - I've recommended either finance or accounting as a replacement for one of the majors(being dad's son those would be easy).

He's got the path figured out pretty well, and acing it so far with 18 hour semesters.


He intendeds to be a politician at some point, obviously some law firm first.

So which major are these books for, political science I guess? I would have thought some sort of technical manual for how the mechanisms of power operate in the US would be more appropriate but maybe they covered that in freshman classes.

I don't know how I feel about those books because I've never read them and am not likely to, but if the entire year is focused on why the US is an awful racist country, that doesn't sound terribly useful. Maybe I'm just exhibiting white fragility though, so who knows?

I’m not really sure - he’s plan is centered around GPA digging and specific things for acceptance rates - how he picks the classes

I hope he has a realistic idea of the practicalities of the legal profession and not the quixotic notion one gets from L.A Law, Suits etc.

I have ten friends who went into the vocation, all of them bristling with joie de vivre, all of them certain they would be flying into huge salaried, prestigious corporate positions after graduating.


9 of them left the profession, bitter and disgruntled. The one who remains only does so because he is trapped with a wife who wastes down all his money.

As for me, I graduated from a Bsc then attempted law school. It was the most boring thing I've tried to sit through in my entire life. Left and went back for Masters and now in the last ten months of my PhD which is an interdisciplinary combination of scientific and humanities fields. Am so glad I didn't go to law school or enter the profession 100k in debt.

This lawyer did about 10 videos on how to pass law school, they are interesting enough to watch for a non-law person like myself. Would probably be useful for someone who wants to get into law.

He also makes the point that you'd better love the law, because it's quite the commitment.

I looked up an old friend who went to law school. It wasnt good. No longer allowed to practice for various reasons including several DUIs in a brief period of time, failure to pay child support, some other stuff i cant remember.

On the upside, the state bar association has recently changed its website to make those details much more difficult to find.

Whatever you do- any profession , marriage , business venture , etc ...... no quit, no give in , focus driven mentality

You focus - you plan - you stay driven - you prepare - you keep yourself sharp in every aspect (dress well, exercise, nutrition , grooming, etc)


The biggie- you network- and you network at the level you want to be, not the entry.


Inverse the approach - For him: meet high end people first via networks - Have multiple high end job already pathed: what they want , what schools they hire from , who they are, know and meet the leaders - know high end grad schools (what they want for specific entry) - know path


It takes luck in some cases - luck is where opportunity meets preparation

If he chooses another career- the big thing is he’s learned (and learning) the approach.

Currently he’s working out, working part time in a job, going to school , and continuing all of the above.


Never enter blind - always plan it just like you would an assassination.


Hey may do something different - the approach is the lesson- his current end game is politics







Good to see you’re accomplished and completed the education you sought.

FWIW I was able to compete a couple of classes at a community college once.

Fukking Fauci goes on CNN last night to say a vaccine by October is unlikely. He and CNN both knew and might have even conspired to say something that would put the market in turmoil temporarily to get at Trump.

The markets will adjust. DOW still above 28K. Just a bump, but someone need s to talk to Fauci. The reason I believe the above is because he knows he could have described when the vaccine would be available more appropriately.
