The World Cup will be over soon and i fee like a massive void will be left in my life.Been enjoying this WC way too much.Have a feeling the final wont be all that spectacular.


France are Brazil's voodoo team it seems.The French knocked out that fantastic Brazilian team in 1982 and many people consider that Brazilian team to be the greatest team never to have won the WC.Then there was France 98 and in 2006 the Brazilians and especially Kaka and Ronaldinho choked big time in the quarters to a resurgent France under Zizou.Have a feeling if they meet in the semis the French might just once again throw out the Brazilians even though i hope for the reverse.Ofcourse none of them have qualified so far but i do think Uruguay defend too deep and will be punished by a few long range belters by the French.The Brazilians might even get upset by the Belgians but somehow i just dont see Roberto Martinez making the WC semifinals but then again never say never.I am praying the Russians pull out another shock whilst i am hoping the Swedes continue their brilliant WC record against the Brits in the q/f.But with the Brits having overcome their penalty voodoo perhaps they will next overcome the Swedish blemish and it really may be coming home after all!!!

Well you can only beat what's in front of you. Aside from the Pepe header they had Portugal on complete lock in their defensive third. France obviously has the stronger midfield but they are not as good defensively as Uruguay.

The problem is going to be playing their game without Cavani. They may very well need to play defensive.

The rule is very well thought out since it promotes "fair play" by the players and smart use of tactics from the managers to avoid losing important players in the knock out rounds.

What exactly has England done in this world cup apart from beating the great Tunisia and the awesome Panama. They were below average against Belgium and bang average against Colombia(missing their best ) player. Had England been in the same group as Italy and Uruguay like 4 years ago, they would have failed to qualify for the knock outs just like last time.
