This doesn't make a lick of sense..... how did the kids "Get" through these tight spaces in the first place to end up where they're? Did they crawl through before it flooded? WTF?

Well if the way you came in is flooded and the water is very deep and one of your mates already tried to dive and gave up because the water is just too deep and keeps rising what way is left?

Right, deeper into the cave, as difficult as it might be

This is actually a pretty big deal. You can get dinner in Thailand in most places for about a dollar USD. Of course this is usually oriental-style food from carts or small restaurants, and I assume you could even cook yourself dinner for cheaper. McDonald's is a bit of a luxury there, and the prices are exactly the same as they are in the US. So... you can pay $1 for a big oriental dinner and a drink, or you can pay $5 for a burger.

As to the topic, why don't they just drink the water?

...because they've been crapping in it for two weeks and it probably wasn't potable to begin with?

They were cut off by flooding and had to go deeper and off the normal route to escape the rising water.

Why don't they just keep going East and eventually they will come out somewhere in America and they can become citizens.

Solid thought. But they don't want to go all that extra distance East towards America knowing they'll probably run out of food and water before they get there. Plus they know Lord Trump will send them back anyway. Unless they think the pussy Obama is still in office then they could possibly risk the long trek.

I guess someone in Thailand reads the misc thread because they are literally doing pretty much what I suggested in my first couple more serious posts lol

its not quite duct tape but its the same gist of secure the head and mask so it cant move by accident.

they said it was awkward but they trained the boys basic diving already, so in theory they can do it at any time now when the risk/reward ratio is right

With monsoon rains approaching soon .. and pumping out water at crazy rate, probably gonna need to make an attempt to get out of there fairly soon.

I know it would suck, but I’d take a chance . If I made it out alive I’d never go in a cave again .

Watching that scuba diver in that tight space just gives me the chills .

I don’t know if they can get a drilling rig on that mountain , but they did extract those miners trapped in a simular way

It was the first sentence of the thread I read today as well: "I am like fuk, it's finally arrived, it's no longer just theories!". Alas.I guess you need some sort of levity because we couldn't imagine the reality.

so part of the issue is that some of the kids don't know how to swim and people cant swim with them because of the narrowness of the cave? Why don't someone teach the kids to swim inside the cave? they can teach them in a week. then have them swim through the narrow holes also those who are suggesting drilling.. if they are drilling.. they will poke a hole in the end of the cave.. and water will drown them ..
