So, I was watching Hikaru and Eric trying to qualify for the Bullet Chess Championship on Chess.com and come to realize Hikaru is pre-qualified since he is the defending champion, but he is playing the qualifiers anyway and knocking people out, so they can't qualify.

Everyone is defending Hikaru because chess.com is letting him play. But I think **** is ****ed up and even if he's allowed to, he should not be playing in the qualifiers.

Anyone checking out the coverage of the world candidates?
So apparently Caruana played this amazing game that not has seen and ended up beating MVL. Think it was a like 3 pawns and a bishop sacrifice in the opening down like 6 but then was an exchange up in the endgame. Everyone is going nuts over it.
Imagine being MVL and grabbing all this material and Caruana is playing near instantly on a lot of moves. Must of been ****ting bricks.

Yeah that was an insane play. It inspired me in a current game I am in, which I just sacrificed my knight. I'm definitly in a losing position now, but I was close to a checkmate if I defended it. I doubt he was expecting it because taking it wasn't the best move IMO. He just saw a free piece. He's 200 elo higher than me, though, and I doubt he will blunder and give me a wining position.
