What will happen is that there will be more unwanted births and a bigger drain on the taxpayer to fund social programs

Oh that's easy to answer. Some will turn to crime, some will be incarcerated (again on the taxpayer's dime), some will die.

As I have always said here and elsewhere: abortion is morally abhorrent and I am completely against it, but if it becomes illegal the US will be a third world country within 2 generations.

Can't say I am upset about the supreme court ruling in favor of states rights though.

According to the Guttmacher Institute, the average cost for a first-trimester abortion is in the US is $508 (anywhere between $75 and $25001). The median cost for a second-trimester abortion is $1,195. Later term abortion can cost $3,000 or more.

Typical Abortion Costs in Rochester and Buffalo, NY
Cost of Abortion Pill
Medication Abortion / Abortion Pill with insurance (within 10 weeks gestation) : $350-$650
Medical Abortion / Abortion Pill without insurance: up to $10002
Abortion Pill online: not available legally3 in the US
Abortion Pill at CVS: not available by prescription
Cost of Surgical Abortion
Suction Aspiration / Vacuum Abortion (6-12 weeks gestation): $600-$1000
Dilation and Curettage (13-16 weeks gestation): $850-$1600
Dilation and Evacuation (17-21 weeks gestation): $1500-$2100

...

Condoms:>$1 each, cheaper average for a pack

The Pill:$0-$50. But they’re totally free with most health insurance plans, or if you qualify for some government programs.

Wish people would read through the tea leaves and understand that a permanent ruling class is forming and is stripping away rights that are valued by both ends of the political spectrum. It’s not a coincidence gun control looks like it might make serious waves soon right now also, despite a recent Supreme Court ruling.

The ruling today literally insinuates that even federal protections for contraceptives are on the table. Idc how conservative you are, that’s insane.

The same thing that happened in the past. Fathers monitor their daughters more closely and in the instances where that fails, shotgun weddings

The US, because we have numerous social programs now. The poster I was replying to was hoping they go bankrupt.

I’m not sure I want to find out what happens when the uneducated underbelly of society is forced to have more uneducated kids and doesn’t have a safety net.

That underclass of uneducated breeders is a direct result of the welfare system you're so worried about.

There will ALWAYS be people who are not as smart or good workers. You can’t simply have them work a farm or factory anymore like we’ve done for all of modern civilization. But yes keep voting for them to multiply even quicker lol.

Depends on what you mean. I have no problem with educated immigrants coming here the right way and adding value to society. I do have a problem with just anyone and everyone coming over and taxing social systems.

What do you think happens in a generation with half a million more people being born to uneducated and poor families every single year?

All these people are going to go to church and have fathers and go to college or a trade and be productive members of society?

Let’s be realistic for two seconds.

Do you think the average human is capable of being made accountable?

I would say allowing idiots to have an abortion is the lesser of two evils, vs forcing them to birth children who they'll neglect and who will then grow up to be a burden on society perpetuating the cycle.

Also pro choice but I agree with the decision. Similar to the NY State gun decision yesterday, I agree with it even though I also believe that guns should be heavily regulated.

SCOTUS is all about procedure more than anything else and it's a beautiful thing when they force the retards in legislature to represent the people.

Right now we have a permanent underclass of people where you have families living in a home and for multiple generations no one has ever had a job. They go to terrible schools and the only skill they learn from their parents is how to get government cheess.

There will always be some kind of poverty but this ongoing situation is a result of government assistance and the best thing that could happen to these people would be for those programs to disappear

pls stay safe

There may be some crazy street protests in the big cities especially.

Keep your head on a swivel and don’t get caught in street blockages if it does get crazy.

There may be some opportunistic looting as well if it does get bad.

There’s a lotta pissed off ppl on social media right now like this is an attack on them or something.

Maybe it’ll be fine but just in case.

protests are ramping up from what I am reading. Lucky for me I am surrounded by Amish and Methodists...not sure how the Methodists will react, but the Amish don't have a care in the world right now.
