I’m gonna be stubborn and go with new engine.

Can’t bring myself to purchasing a new vehicle at five years. Too much of an ego hit.

Couldn’t get emmisons for new tag- thought it was o2 sensor or something

Has some timing error, etc - failure codes for both converters , and whatever else’s

Dealer basically said with the age and timing problem wouldn’t be able to do anything without fixing it which would be same as replace- and wouldn’t know what else might need after they - converters etc.

Figured I’d take it to my regular shop if that’s the case.

Picked it up they had , reset and light wasn’t on , drove 100 miles running through the readiness cycle list

Passed emissions

Fuk it - driving it till failure now lol

I can’t let my people seeing me by a new vehicle for myself in just 5 years.

Corporate Culture is unique to each environment. Gachase doesn't lie on purpose that I know of.

Our personal corporate culture is transparency; we want everybody to know what everybody is earning and why.

His industry has thin margins, promoting frugality and leading, possibly by facade, is an example to lower levels of what the company values. I believe what he said.

Hey, if he's middle-management of a large corporation (I don't know his industry or position), then I don't doubt that his philosophy has been trickled down to his level and he's just following suit.

One good thing about private is no one has to really know your real worth.

Me and Mrs Beer are finally in a position when buying a new car would not be a major financial imposition but we decided that we're going to run our 8 year old Hyundai into the ground before that happens. Frugality with motor vehicles is one of the most important ways of saving a buttload of money.

Not a chance. I'm a car guy, legit. As in I spend a fair bit of my free time at the track. It's what i love doing, but i wouldn't wish this hobby on anyone. Way too expensive. It's dumb.
