This reminds me of those millionaire next door books that were popular around 2000. The marketers who wrote the books found that most millionaires' wealth was tied up in their business and some real estate.

I had a sensible chuckle at this. Suburban dad life. My brother went to put on dress pants for Christmas dinner for the first time since covid began and discovered that none of them fit him any more.

Pro Tip: All of Lowe's stores are going through a major reset. If you browse the aisles you may find a deal you can not resist.

I got a SS gas counter top range, normally $700 for $100 and bathroom sink and vanity normally $600 for $30 pesos.

Cliffs: I wouldn’t necessarily do that, depending on entire portfolio and situation.
ive got the kids college fund in dividend stocks, combined yield of 7%, also has gone up 20% in value, won’t need it for another 4-5 years
Between my next commission check and fed tax return, I’ll have another big chunk that I’m going to throw into the market
I think I’m going to let it sit there until I accumulate enough to put a large chuck down on either land or sfr rental property

thats what I’ll be doing for all 3, looks like I need to show at least 6k of earned income for each child to get the 6k max for each

Doing this will cost me though, via more income tax
If I’m reading it correctly, I will have to show 18k of earned income on my return (6k for each kid)
So my tax bill in doing this will be around 3600-4200, not sure of my rate this year

Thanks!

Edit: looks like they will each have to file their own return , won’t go on my income, nice

Families got covid.

Daughter and wife tested positive two days ago.

Daughter thinks she caught it from friend at school.

Per company guidelines I have to stay quarantined as well.

I sat with my daughter in my truck for two hours with no mask prior test, and one hour after- been side-by-side every sense even drinking out of the same cup a few times accidentally

Sleeping beside wife in bed...

Still nada. Up untill now I’ve been out every single day working exposed to at least 3 to 500 complete strangers a day- nada

Wife and daughter fine obviously, it’s just covid- nothing serious.

Just like everyone else - feel bad for about a day and a half- kinda icky another day and a half- then pretty much straight shot recovery after that.

Son was with daughter and I for an entire day right before she got tested, he tested negative I had him tested again yesterday and still negative(prc and rapid now)-i get the wait to 5th day and test thing- will do that -but so silly unfortunately when he went back to university he reported direct contact so he can’t go to school for two weeks.

Wife is furious “ we locked everything down for this BS?”

This is so dumb- I should be at work and tbese kids should be in school- old people at home maybe - it’s a mild virus

I’m gonna get another antibody tests and just see again- for whatever reason I just never can seem to catch it.

Maybe I’ll suffer exposed to everything on earth in my service time lol

People should work, and go to school, sick - and work hard when doing so.

Unless it’s an actual serious virus, hemorrhagic or mers type.

Human species is going to be weak as fuk in 1000 year's fighting darwin like this.

Idk, maybe ill catch it here in a day or so.

I'm sorry to hear that. Covid hits men a lot harder than women on average, so hopefully they'll be fine. Keep an oximeter at hand in case you don't already have one.

Don't take it lightly. You could be asymptomatic, you could have light symptoms, or it could hit you like a truck and leave you with some permanent lung and heart issues. It's just not worth the risk. There really is no downside to wearing a mask and being smart about your social interactions.

^^^ I got oximeters, thermostats ,Home nebulizer, back up oxygen machine, etc

I check my blood oxygen regularly through this.

For my social interactions you would probably think I’m a germophobr taking an amazing amount of precocious daily- but that’s because of my position I have to - I’m looked at to set the example for what I ask employees to do.

In business you have to put your opinion aside- 50+% customers think this is a serious issue- so I have to facilitate that with an over abundance of caution - while making it safe for the employees customers - and still maximize revenue.

Long and be successful, my employees have to demonstrate that behavior as well.

The key is not give up on the situation - and find creative ways to maximize that revenue -which we successfully done.

My behavior in public is paramount to that.

I decontaminate everywhere I go lol

The public has been successfully duped -so I have to adjust accordingly.

Best wishes for speedy recovery gachase, you and your family. It sounds like everything is on a good course for ya'll, which is great. The people I know who got ill, and then got really ill from it had a speedy process of getting seriously sick.

I think I had it this time last year, and while unpleasant it resolved pretty quickly.

That sucks man. I had a family outbrake as well. Daughter, sister, brother in law, me, grandson, son in law. **** sucked. No one died, fortunately, but my daughter has long term issues still months after testing negative. **** was no joke on our end, but mileage obviously varies for people. Almost everyone mentioned works in healthcare so it was practically inevitable for us. Wish you all the best.

Back off quarantine, at work today.

I tried everything to catch it.

While they were sick:

-slept in the same bed beside wife every night- with her often facing me, or laying on me.
-sat next to them all day, dinner , etc
-say right next to Daugher playing switch, shared controller etc
-often drank from same cup after they were done.
-no mask the entire time
-went on another car trip just to see things, 2 hours in cab with recirculating air.

Pretty much everything I could have done.

No covid

Got 2 prc test at different times- negative
Got 2 rapid test - negative

Some people are just very resistant to some diseases.

AIDS research turned up super resistant African hookers IIRC, like back in the day when HIV was a death sentence and STI prevention education barely existed in Africa, they were finding street hookers who weren't testing positive even after working for a couple of years with in a high prevalence area.
