does anyone get email notifications of new matches/messages? my email is verified and the options are enabled, but no emails although push notifications work. of course tinder cs is no help with this or anything as they’re either mentally handicapped or bots

I do but it is not consistent. Some days I'll get a few "someone sent you a message!" emails back to back, then they stop for a while. I also get emails with their swipe life blog posts

I’ve never gotten notification emails after matches/messages. And I often just don’t get replies from cs on various issues either.

currently losing old matches faster than gaining new matches. guess peeps quittin tinder. either that or a bug.* anyway based on previous posts seems like most everyone is continuing to experience a recession on tinder and other apps. its def more pay to play than freemium. once an app comes along that offers a proper freemium service then it will be a hit

* edit: tinder has since replied to me claiming it was a bug, and offered me 2 free boosts lol

analogy: a huge school of fish fighting over the last remaining scraps

other issues dont help tinders diminishing popularity… certain photos that are the correct format etc fail to upload directly due to an unknown error, and reportedly many cant even log into instagram anymore without triggering a suspicious login attempt

Their stock price is through the roof right now, but most analysts say that they don't feel that the average revenue per user can go up much more from here. Only so many people are willing to pay. Especially if people aren't getting many matches/dates, then why keep paying?

possibly some of them were bots, or you’re right, just a bug. at least you have that many likes. free users plateau much earlier on (if you’re a straight male)

i honestly think the algorithm issue for the vast majority of men is partly unintentional on tinder’s part, seeing as there are also a lot of simple bugs that tinder has failed to fix so it’s completely believable that the developers cant or havent programmed well enough to overcome this hurdle (and maybe arent even aware of it). bumble has the same issue now as well as an annoying bug where people see the same profile multiple times in a row while swiping. insufficient programming ability and/or flawed algorithm methodology compounded by a huge male userbase … doesnt help

i recently found another app that isnt swipe as such and seems to solve some of the design issues that other popular apps have, including mindless swiping, lack of interaction after matching, and inability to know what photos/aspects of your profile are most attractive. the algorithm seems to rely less or not at all on the flawed scoring system the likes of tinder and bumble supposedly use. a week in and getting good results so far, hope it isnt just a newbie boost. will see how it goes

i did find the overfocus on tinder vs other apps on this forum strange (13 massive threads … lol). but thankfully looks like this thread may be the last chapter

I still get laid off Tinder, but just not with the women I really want. I am only able to get girls who'd be rated a 4-5/10 off there. Only other option for me is cold approaching really. Sucks.

its this but i think also poor coding and/or concept. if users get very few to almost no matches after the newbie boost without paying then it works against tinder as all but the most desperate of users are inclined to think there is something wrong with the algorithm or company so its not worth consistently investing in

based on the stupid number of bugs tinder has and tinder apparently getting increasingly desperate for subscribers, i place my bets on the algorithm being unintentionally faulty. they're heading the wrong direction with this self-fulfilling prophecy and it'll eventually crash

So tinder apparently plus and gold are different now. They want 60$ for 6 months of plus, and then another 90$ for 6 months of gold to see your matches.

I have 20 matches lined up and have never matched with them, surely they can't be wanting me to buy gold version.

Seems like bumble is the better app nowadays?

bumble is only slightly better but i'll have to put in a recommendation for hinge. more matches (no waning off), more convos and more profile insight thanks to the turns and liking system. tip: wait a few days after registering to be offered a 30-day trial that doesnt limit daily likes, tho u'll prob still get more matches with the severe limit on free than in tinder due to what seems to be a much better algorithm that doesnt require u to pay to be more visible

Thanks for the hinge advice, but my phone would literally be all dating apps lol. The market has users spread out over too many apps.
