Well guys I just got put into a dilemma. I got an email from my alma mater wanting me to apply for a director level position in charge of handling all the budgeting for the different departments at the university.
I love my current job. It pays good, especially considering I live in the poorest of the poor states, and is the most laid back work environment you could imagine. I have a bunch of responsibilities but don't do much actual work which leaves me with several hours every day of free time to chat with you guys and watch youtube videos.
At the new job the number of responsibilities is around the same I have now but I know for a fact I'd be doing at least 10 times as much work. The good side of it is that I would be living in a more rural setting since the "big town" has the same number of people as the suburb I currently live in so you can imagine how rural it gets just 5 miles outside of it, it would be a very significant salary increase so my wife could stop working (not that she ever would even if I was literally CEO 10k a day since she loves what she does so much but maybe she could work part time?) and slashing inflated public university budgets in useless woke departments would be like chicken soup for my soul.
Both jobs are for the state so they are in the exact same retirement plan. Other benefits would be extremely similar if not the exact same

Ooof. second one is a loaded question, literally. Can't disagree with Tx and TBO. .45acp is a nice caliber. It's common and easy to find and easy to shoot. But, there are lots of options as I'm sure you are aware. Some are NOT fun to shoot more than a handful of times unless you are shooting it through carbine style set upl.

If you don't know anything about JMB read up on him. He completely revolutionized gun making and a ton of designs and calibers he introduced are still being used today

I sliced my finger yesterday too. Doesn't require stitches though. It was thin but deep. Kinda like my... well it was a fillet knife that sort of fell on my finger somehow.

Spent the day tearing out my tub with my old man. Was a pain in the ass because the tub is the exact width of the bathroom. Took a "shower" this evening in a popup tent on the patio.

We had a very rural low budget existence growing up. I was young but remember the reality of an outhouse and stoking a coal furnace in January, I have no romantic thoughts of returning to those days.
