Yes and it better fukc off and head to the North Pole or something. We're pretty dry out on my side of town and got lucky but there are still people that lost everything. Hard to believe so many have nothing now and are living in shelters. How tf are these people supposed to go to work and do all that? No cars to get around and try to get back to normal. Will be years of rebuilding for so many people.

Basically, an elderly couple got their breakfast from Chikfila every day. They were being flooded (obviously) and couldn't get through to 911. So the husband called his usual Chikfila to see if he could get through to anyone who could help. Chikfila was closed but the manager was there checking on things, recognized the name on caller ID, and the restaurant owner went out there with his boat. Owner was in contact with some volunteer rescue brahs on jetskis who were also happy to help out.

They still suck for being closed on Sundays though.

It's hurricane season, so there'll be a potential hurricane out there anyway. But this one will probably hit Florida.

Sorry, Florida. And the East Coast.

Feel so bad for all that have lost so much, and some lost everything. Close family friend lost everything she had. They've got to fix this soon, I mean what hope do these people have? Even if they did have flood insurance, the homes gets rebuilt/fixed but for how long? Long enough until the next major flood like this? It's like being sitting ducks. Just wait, hope and pray that something like this doesn't happen again. Worst storm in US history

I've got friends that have been sitting around playing video games all weekend while there are thousands of people nearby that are desperate for help. Makes me rage. However, I've seen a lot bonding between neighbors that have never spoken to each other before ... so that's really cool.

I got so lucky. Somehow avoided flooding when I live on the bayou. I have family members who weren't so lucky. Spent a few hours helping them out yesterday. Might need to help my dad too bc his business was flooded.

Not much you can do there except wait for the claim agents. Just take many photos and/or video.

No, you can't control or affect rain or a hurricane with flares of any kind. The US gets hit with a massive hurricane every couple of decades. 25 years ago it was Hurricane Andrew. It was strongest ever recorded, if there was such thing as a Category 6 that's what it would have been. Leveled Miami. People don't realize Hurricanes also have tornadoes that form inside them.

If it is they're not doing it right. They've been seeding for 50 years, but the idea is to get it to rain in the dry regions, not to flood half an already humid state.

Thanks for posting that video. That'll come in handy. I watched a bunch on tearing out carpets then the first place I went to go help out at had hardwood floors and tile, lmao.

It's frustrating to me too, but what can you do... Thankfully a lot of people are out helping. And now that most are back to work the number of people helping is going to dwindle I am sure.

Offer still stands. Srs. Let me know if I can help. I have weird times that I can help now that I'm back at work + being a single Dad, but if I have some advance notice I can always make time. And I want to make time to help people.

I've been using this map to find people that are in need of "mucking", which to me is a new term, and one that I found is fawkin' disgusting boyos...
