I just don't think you are into older dudes period. You want a 7/10 younger dude but are probably too shy to approach. Or don't make it obvious enough to them. If you are 45 you could easily get a guy in his mid-late 30s. I just think you are like me and too introverted and shy. And probably have high standards.

This is medical and scientific fact. You can't choose to be attracted.
Sorry Leo gotta totally disagree with you here.

There is a “logic” to attraction.

Your childhood and potential trauma/ chaos in your upbringing can totally dictate who you are (subconsciously) attracted to.

Abused as a child= attracted to abusers
Abandoned by your father = attracted to “father figure” (that will abandon you again”
Dad’s an alcoholic = attracted to alcoholics

For anyone that has a chaotic relationship as young adult/ adult, you can trace back the roots of that relationship to an abuse in their childhood.

When you get abused as a child, your “attraction antenna” gets screwed up and you get attracted to the wrong people.

Jesus you're equating mental trauma to normal people.

These are abnormal situations.

Attraction isn't about who you have a relationship with or look to have a relationship with.

It's about who you would like to phuck whether you ever act on that thought or not.

I think deep down you'd rather that younger "trophy" chad, all other things being equal with an older dude - whether it's hotter sex or other things he would be more likely to offer in your mind, no?

Instant attraction is not all there is...that’s why you’re told to give people you like, but don’t feel it in your loins so to speak, a chance
And this is probably one of the reasons why you're married, as opposed to most of the posters in this thread who are either divorced or single. I mean that in a good way.

Getting along doesn't mean attraction, and saying or doing something wrong wouldn't have made a difference if he was into you. It's not an easy thing to accept, but that's the reality.

To be real with you, if this guy is as masculine as you claimed, he would've made the first move once you showed your interest if he was actually into you. But the reality is that he probably only said yes in the first place because you made the first move. He was likely only looking for an easy smash like I said earlier, and ultimately he didn't think it was worth a second date. This might be a blow to your self-esteem, but think of it this way. Would you really want to be with someone who's not that into you? Though the funny thing is that part of your attraction to him may have been exactly because he seemed unavailable to you.

After reading the past few pages. If youre looking for a smash, shoot for the stars and land on the moon but if you actually expect the guy to stay around stay in your lane. If hes that much more attractive he has options and hes not going to seriously date you and youre going to end up getting hurt The only exceptions ive ever seen to this are people who know each other well beforehand and it developed into something more over time, and even thats still rare. The only other time is when the person who is better off has some deep seated issues and you dont want to go that route anyways because its never a happy ending. Have realistic standards and you wont end up hurting yourself

Genuinely curious what constitutes a Chad in opie's mind.

Considering she's nearing her 5th decade and has the facial aesthetics of Peyton Manning.

Congrats though. Hope it all works out well for you.
