Those are both obviously down today. I'm hanging onto them for now. In my opinion, UPST may still be a great buy right now and I've already made over 100% on it. It's a ridiculously awesome business model with top tier management. Long term, I see UPST to the moon. CCIV could be a good buy too since they're talking about a merger.

Bond yield down, btc down, oil down, inflation up, tech up, dxy up, gold up and no raise in interest rates in sight, these markets make no sense lol.

Didn't the FED peg Trump with a rise in rates?

Why not now?

On the economy: The inflation is temporary, it’s not structural, it’s driven by clowns with cash and supply issues.

The chickens will come home to roost in a few years. Poor idiots increased their spending habits during covid. Mistakes made with unemployment insurance exacerbated this (there are many people in my state that received 2-3x the amounts they were supposed to do to exploiting loopholes in the system that were shopped around in certain “neighborhoods”. Once dumb people increase their spending habits, it’s very difficult to reduce that spending.

As people refuse to work for reasonable market bearing wages automation will accelerate. People are cheering that the McDonald’s in town has wages starting at $15 minimum. Wait until McDonald’s are being run by people with data monitors that measure their efficiency a la Amazon and the crews are 50% the size augmented by automated ordering, etc.

Credit card debt will explode as people refuse to scale back their new standards of living.

We will see a bifurcation in society. Likely more pushes for UBI.

Potentially destabilizing but that’s out of my wheelhouse.

Capital is mobile. I’ll likely be a retired ex-pat in 10-15 years.

Markets in complete clown mode. I wont touch puts right now since I got fuked over to many times. Things just keep running up forever on low volume sitting over 70 RSI on the daily for 2 months when they normally dump within a week at most. I will buy calls when they get to the bottom of the charts.

Just keep in mind this isn't without risk either, big bois will sometimes stop hunt and clean house

These fluctuations shouldn't be much of a concern if you understand the companies you're buying and what they should be worth. Then you just need to hang on for the dips (and potentially buy more) because fundamentals will take over sooner or later

I think it amounts to +400-500k over the previous plan with this new UAE concession that is being talked about but don't really know the details

I don't think the OPEC/UAE news has much to do with the price movements tbh, nothing is even confirmed yet and a UAE official said talks are still ongoing. If a deal was struck, it would surely also mean extending production cuts beyond their previous finish and to the end of 2022. Saudi Arabia isn't gonna flood the market, they need high prices.

Maybe it's partially that news, maybe it's partially a build in gasoline inventories, maybe it's delayed EIA data. Maybe everyone just tries to find ways to explain movements but the reality is that crude futures are heavily traded like stocks and they're dumping along with the market or just 'cause. Nothing fundamental has changed from what I can see.
