LTC should correct back to $100, not climb up to $400 like someone said. SMH. Just lol at it's usecase as a day-to-day transaction currency if it does.

It already went from $94 to $300.70 in a single day - I'm still scratching my head as to why. The crypto market is now officially insane. XRP at $0.70 from $0.25? LTC to $300? ETH climbing for no reason other than it should keep up with other big 3? Da fuq.

Surprised OMG has hung around at mid $14 for so long, would be on cloud nine if it settled here by the grace of God.

I get the feeling there are some big money investors shifting from one high cap coin to the next, all these breakouts and good support during sell cycles to me seems like its all just being traded and not HODL inverstors.

Things like fibanocci numbers and extensions work for this reason I think, it's pretty ****ing amazing how much fib numbers show themselves in the world actually. Like for example the perfect body proportions are thought to be a form of fib numbers regarding shoulder/waist/chest/hip/leg size. So there's something weird going on there and I choose to believe in it.

Also, TA is kinda a self fulfilling prophecy because enough people use it, it just naturally becomes true.
TA is completely valid. Horizontal price levels that become support and resistance are unbelievably accurate. Look at the $400.00 level on ETH. Once we got over $400 i was sure that area would act as support after it clearly was a resistance level in the past. Also, momentum combined with volume indicate the direction of where price should continue to go.

Some hate it, but you can't deny it. I try to time almost every entry i make with TA. Even in my retirement accounts lol.

ive been saying this for a bit. the movement has been pretty weird, but perhaps funds were just being dispersed among the alts due to btc moving sideways..

its just. you have a pretty big thing coming up for btc

I honestly think the futures market has validated crypto as an entirely new asset class.... With a market cap of only $500billion?!?!? Wtf! Buy immediately at these insane discounts!!!

That's my line of thought.

What do you think of this guy's chart analysis? Does he do anything different than what you do? Just wondering because he charges a pretty penny to instruct people when to swing trade. Maybe you can start your own service, lol.

I'm not sure how they draw the connection between that and not being able to do tech analysis and the example they gave of the 1987 crash doesn't make much sense to me. Thats a scenario in which TA would actually be a helpful tool. When you see things breaking trendlines, you know something is up. You can't rely on any one indicator so maybe thats what they were referring to, but again thats you can't isolate any one variable, it's best to look at the whole pie. so really the best analysis is some combination of FA, TA, overall market feeling, news, public sentiment etc in my opinion.

Just real quick I think the reason TA has potential to work and the reason why I put faith in it is because it's essentially just charting human behavoir and from what I know about human psych, I know that people pretty much haven't changed much in hundreds of thousands of years when it comes to thought processes so in general people react in unconscious and predictable ways to an extent. Things like fibanocci numbers and extensions work for this reason I think, it's pretty ****ing amazing how much fib numbers show themselves in the world actually. So there's something weird going on there and I choose to believe in it.

Also, TA is kinda a self fulfilling prophecy because enough people use it, it just naturally becomes true.

Heres the thing though, hypothesis like this are kinda irrelevant in a way because multiple ways have been proven to be successful. The way that article outlined it could work for some people, but for me and my personality I'm more suited to actively trade. Some people take longer swing trade positions, some hold no matter what, so theres really all kinds of viable strategies it just comes down to what works for you.

Also the big problem with academic understandings of this kinda subject and actually most others in my opinion is that when doing tests it kinda neglects the super outliers in favor of finding the mean. So really I would be more interested in studying the ultra successful outliers and find out what the **** theyre doing rather than the average 'success'

Haha kinda went off on a tangent there but thanks for sharing that with me, good thought experiment and I'm sure I completely forgot the point to ramble on about my own thoughts lol
Thanks for the long answer. I feel like some parts of the EMH also fail in the aspect of behaviour being a pattern. People subconsciously act in a certain way as you pointed out(thats why we have positioning and advertising gurus who know exactly how to push peoples instincts) and if you have a pretty certain way of analyzing the trends(TA in trading) then you can be ahead of the big crowds. Obviously its not as simple as that when we fight for who has the latest information and who can extract the important from the not so important but as long as you're not going head first into the crypto and buying whatever seems like a "cool idea", youre golden(semi)
