I haven't shot my recurve since January of last year. I only have the points for target practice though.

Jeez I really need to get on this, have not flung any arrows since last year. I think the last arrow I shot was a small doe just before the end of my vacation. Taking a week off during the rut for compound bow hunting. Might get some late season ground hunting in with the cross bow. Have a Excalibur Matrix that split nocks at 70 yards. Snow Camo and open field would be good late season option to get some meat in the freezer. Almost like shooting a rifle at anything under 60 yards.

My goals for deads are always the next 45 or 25 lb plate. Get 405 then want 455, then 495 the 545. Haven't got 545 yet. I've been stuck in the low 500s for over a year. Once you get your form dialed in, and obviously build the core and back strength deads are such a mental lift. It's so much easier to set down a DL than to fail a squat or bench rep for me. Amazing how one day they feel light the following week the bar seems glued to the floor.

Oh wow that's early. It's feeling like fall here, the mornings have been cool and seeing deer moving a lot at work. I've got some eating to do before then, scored a bunch of meat deals the last couple months freezer is full of thick cut pork chops, grass fed burger, and chicken.

I enjoy shooting too. Time is thing I'm missing, kids etc. I used to shoot 3D tournaments all summer and had a lot more confidence from that. It's a parishable skill for sure, but comes back pretty fast. I'm a little worried because I've been nursing a left shoulder issue and I'm not sure how it's going to be holding the bow. did buy 4 dozen gold tip arrows on Amazon for $42 per dozen early summer. It was weird after I bought four dozen at that price they wouldn't sell me anymore. I would have bought 10 dozen at that price.

I had an interview today and I found out many of the people on the team were gun guys of varying degrees. Hopefully I get the job

First hour of interviews went really well. Highlighted what I was doing the past few years and it matched what they needed. I slipped up in the second hour because there were these older guys that interviewed me that were networking centric guys and they grilled me (granted my role wouldn't be networking centric). I think I'm a great team fit and they just recently lost someone so fingers crossed.

Yeah, when consistently doing heavy deadlifts, I reach a point where one week isn't enough recovery time. Usually takes about six to eight weeks.

Yea when I was really hammering them I would only hit really heavy rep sets every other week. Pretty good DL session this week. Worked up to 455x3 but put in a ton of volume at 405 and 315. i haven't been really pushing them lately though in terms of working for actual progress. I got to the point where I was dreading them so kind of backed off a little.

I'm only a little over a year in training also, I worked my dead lift from the low 100s to the mid 300s. I will get there no doubt, when I do 3/4 dead lifts that **** kills my back. My back development is way ahead of everything else I feel.

Sounds like something officer Jimmy Lahey would ask

I've been taking my kids to taekwondo twice a week for 3 years. I've seen a lot of forms, sparring and board breaking, so that kinda makes me a black belt by proxy. I could probably take you 1v1. Just sayin....
