Some FX are better than others. That's why some win Academy Awards and others don't. There's also the financial aspect of it.

Good animation requires a ton on manpower -- and therefore money -- that producers would prefer not to spend when they don't feel it's critical. Banner as the Hulk is critical. The villain Steppenwolf, not so much.

Then nothing was critical in JL cause everything else looked like garbage too.. the under sea environment.. the flying demon things.. the chernobyl reactor area stuff.. lol at the main bad guy not being a priority.

That poor level of cgi was unacceptable for a movie that suppose to be a big blockbuster... looked straight out of the scify channel.

Very unfortunate for JL. It deserved to get the hype IW is getting.

They already messed up the main event (bvs, jl). How they recover? I have no clue, they already establish themselves of just being generic cgi action.

The comics are incredibly inconsistent. Thanos was arrested, cuffed and taken away by regular cops in the comics.

They'll definitely be making changes to Thanos and the rest of it before the release.

These trailers are basically huge focus groups now where they monitor the reaction.

Look at Jurassic World, GotG (like a brah above said, and even Star Wars: TFA.

I wonder how much of Thanos' perceived change in look is just because he doesn't have his armor on. Director or whatever said that this is like fun vacation time for him or something. I imagine when he gets serious, later in the movie or in second movie, he'll have his armor on.

I think they just wanted to make him look a little less comic booky, so to speak. I understand the slight changes completely, because even though Thanos looks cool sitting in that space chair of his, it's just not a good look when he's in a realistic setting on earth.

The Fantastic Four may finally be able to team up with the Avengers.

A new report from CNBC says Disney and 21st Century Fox “are in fact closing in on a deal.” The report states that people familiar with the situation are claiming that the companies “could announce a deal as soon as next week.” While this doesn’t confirm that the deal will go through — and the Federal Trade Commission could try to block it — the report says both companies are interested in the acquisition.

“The talks with Disney have gone far deeper and further and very well may result in a deal in which Disney will purchase the Fox studio [and] the Fox networks (for example, FX, A&E and the Fox regional sports networks),” CNBC’s David Faber reported.

While certain Fox properties may not be sold to Disney, including Fox Sports, there are a number of smaller properties where Disney could acquire stakes. Faber reported that Disney would get Fox’s 30 percent stake in Hulu. Disney already has a 30 percent stake in Hulu, so that arrangement would give it majority ownership of the streaming platform.

Disney CEO Bob Iger has spoken about the company’s continued investment in Hulu in the past, pointing to the streaming service as a longterm investment plan. Disney will also launch its own streaming service in 2019, one that includes exclusive original series and films, such as brand new live-action series based on Star Wars, Monsters Inc., High School Musical and Marvel properties.

If the deal goes through, it’s expected to be worth more than $60 billion, according to Faber’s report. Faber first reported that Disney and Fox were negotiating in early November, but said those talks had stalled. This past weekend, the Wall Street Journal confirmed conversations had become active again, but didn’t give an estimated time for when the deal could go through.

Polygon has reached out to Fox and Disney for comment on this report.

So Deadpool, X-men and F4 are all going back to Marvel should this go through. Echoing my previous post about how I prefer Fox's R rated takes on the Logan and Deadpool franchise.

So Deadpool, X-men and F4 are all going back to Marvel should this go through. Echoing my previous post about how I prefer Fox's R rated takes on the Logan and Deadpool franchise.
Have not seen Logan or Deadpool (don't particularly like the comedy), but both of these have been the most successful of all the features from that segment.

On another note, I finally saw Guardians 2 and really didn't get all the hoopla surrounding that feature either.
