men and women in their 70s and 80s come from a much different time. more religious society, no social media for comparison and being hit on by endless amounts of people. less pursuit of status, longer attention spans with no phones, more likely to have children, no dating apps, less approval of hookup culture, degeneracy less glamorized, etc

maybe so. less choices means appreciating what's available more. a lot of choices means dismissing people for what else is out there. when online dating came around it sorta felt perfect because more selection surely meant people could find just the right match.
