Back on the bike, bitches.

First post-surgery ride. Still in a hard cast.

7 miles around San Tan Regional park. Only fell once... on my good side and back. Unfortunately, fell off the trail, and landed in cactus and sticker bush. Back and arms covered in needles. HAHAHA! yeah, funny. Pain is funny.

ordered a Fanttik X9 Ace mini air pump to give a try

I do a couple weekly rides with a big group and been a lot of flats on rides lately and them emergency mini hand pumps are not the solution & would need a pocketfull of C02s

so making a new kit for these specific rides

crazy how many people ride 20+ miles with absolutely zero tools not even a pocket multi tool

Day off, 2nd ride with cast. Riding one foot clipped in, pedal removed on the other side. Didn't fall over this time.

Even pedaling with one foot, was able to pass 2 riders on eBikes. LOL. Going downhill though. Uphill, forget it.

Then went to the gym.

No lie, if you're using roadie tubes, buy the tubes with removable valve cores, and shoot 1 oz of STANS sealant into the tube.

Even at 100 psi, the Stan's will stop the tube from losing air.

Using Stan's has saved me from so many flat tires I have lost count.

Stans says it only works up to like 40 psi, but that is incorrect... 100 psi it works perfect.

My current front tube has had maybe 6 holes in it, but all sealed themselves and im still using that tube.

Fast for me riding with one foot, one pedal.

Try the cable actuated shifters - they work, and no battery.

Tore it MTBing, hyper-extended my ankle and landed on it.

"dropping with a wrap?" I don't understand. What wrap?

I had no wrap.

Hawes again today. Little over 7 miles.

Subtle brag.. passing riders while pedaling with one foot and the other in a hard cast AFTER a huge head start feels good, mane.

Blue frame, orange fork, orange coil, kashima coating on fork and seatpost. Dressed up in XX1 components. Complete custom build. I have a Session for park days, but might try some laps with the Megatower and see how it compares. Unlike the Session, I'll be able to rock out the climbs on the Megatower.

Out riding today for tome flow at Hawes. Still riding one-footed with a cast on.

Saw this cute little guy on the trail, just hanging out.

Very early sunrise rides are in-season. I'll be on the trail at 5:00am sharp.

I'm doing a ride streak for May (ride a minimum 30 minutes every single day). I'm finding it very easy from a motivation standpoint, but the days I do 40+ miles make the following day very slow.

I pulled out a 40 mile ride on my folding bike the other day which is just pure LULZ.

Today I'm going to pull it back a little and actually drive to the trailhead for mountain biking.

One of my annual goals is to drive my car less as a result of bicycling. Most years I drive my car more as a result of bicycling, which makes no sense lol. So I've been riding the 10 miles or so to the trail which is pretty tedious when you are riding every day.

What trail?

I'm doing early morning rides as well. Once I get back on my motorcycle, I'll do more riding throughout the week before work shifts.

Right now, I'm just doing early morning rides on my days off.

I hear you about the amount of vehicular travel to get to the trailheads. Sucks, which is why I can't wait to get back on my motorcycle to ride to the trailheads.

When we riding, bruh? I know you got mtb skillz.

Day 23 now.

This has been the easiest "challenge" I've ever assigned myself. Reminds me of when I was in highschool and would bike literally 365 days per year.

I don't plan on stopping the streak when June is here. Maybe I'll do this streak all summer while I still have the sunrise riding opportunities.

Been hard to squeeze a ride in night with kids baseball / softball. Wife is already giving me chit about never seeing me. So out of pure necessity I started riding before the kids go to school.

It was almost 100 here this week and 60 in the am. Thank god my family got me the Garmin headlight for xmas - it is a total game changer when riding in the dark.

Ive seen more animals fkn this week than I have seen in my entire life. No cars on the road. I think I'm sold.

Exactly.

I can't imagine doing an evening ride at this point.

You should try doing your morning rides fasted. It really helps to further simplify a morning ride routine. If I feel hungry when I wake up, I'll do a handful or two of mixed nuts before I jump on the bike. Your goal is to avoid carbs so you can get the ride started without any blood sugar spikes. I do not bring any fuel with me, and never feel like I'm losing power on the ride.

It's tricky at first to adjust to carb-fasted riding, but I can't switch back at this point.

My carb-fasted ride yesterday was 42 miles of MTB, started at 4:00am.... Rolled back to my doorstep at roughly 7:45am, and never once during the ride had a hunger feeling, or bonk.

Pretty damn convenient if you ask me.

I do all my riding fasted. I dont even like to have water sloshing around in my stomach. I bring water - but seldom sip unless it's over an hour on a HOT day & even then its just a squirt to get my mouth wet.

I've never had any issues even during summer races races where I am maintaining a HR of 180+ bpm.

Bikes are the best invention of all time. I can't get over how great it is to be out riding around in the sunrise desert just shredding. I have a 1 night road trip planned for Monday in Flagstaff AZ. I'm planning to do 2 days of pretty heavy MTB in a row while I'm there. I was trying to save my energy by not doing any big rides the few days before. This morning I wanted to MTB so badly I just said fuk it and did 24 miles. Still not crazy, I know ... But even to just chill off the bike for a few days is too much.

My ride streak still goes, but I have been doing easy days followed by alternating hard days to stay alive.

Yeah I swore off the 100oz camelback for a long time, but recently dug it out of the closet again and have been enjoying it. It's nice to just sip while you pedal, hydration problems will never get ahead of you that way.

The hydration bonk is a real thing in Arizona.

Haven't been riding much lately been running instead. Was able to get a good ride in

Custom bike. Very stiff, carbon cockpit / aluminum frame. Crank is SRAM Red (carbon, very stiff) because Cannondale uses BB30 Ultegra components otherwise
