For certain stories and arcs they should put them in 2-3 movies like Lord of the Rings. I don't like when they condense it in just 1 movie.

That's the model; and its a big enough gamble just for one blockbuster let alone 2, 3.

When it comes to movies the public can be very finicky. Any bad publicity from a single actor could cause you entire investment to go down the tubes.
