I didn't say you "can't", but the juice isn't worth the squeeze.

I used to go deep into analyzing candle patters (mainly just engulfing bars) combined with volume, but I find more & more the only way I make gobs of money EASILY is by picking brain-dead obvious companies where the founder is the CEO, then hodling it forever. Like NVDA, for example.

I held Amazon from $970 until bezo's stepped down last year. Didn't use any patterns for exit, just assumed there's more upside in companies like NVDA, SQ, upst.

NVDA is like the most obvious stock rn.

U like tsla? Buy NVDA.

I would love to be a long-term holder as well but I just started trading this year and I don't think now is the time to go long lol.

I became a swing trader out of necessity.

It's certainly not easy though.

Fair enough.

I have been in long enough that I am not operating with my back against the ropes.

Although when I first started studying markets around '09, there was a ton of fear of a "double dip" recession that NEVER came, and was actually the greatest buying opportunity of my lifetime - missed it.

Read the book "100-baggers". GOAT book for stonk buying imo, and it has a chapter about buffet, the true GOAT.

I don't get why the Chinese are fukking up their own companies and significantly crushing their own economy?? Is it so they can exert more control or something? Seems like they are going to really shoot themselves in the foot when economic investment starts drying up.

Buying in 2009 put peoples life on easy mode for ~10 years lol.

If anything similar happened soon I wouldn't be worried about a double dip.

I'll check out the book, Buffet is actually one of the few billionaires who actually deserves it.

From what I’ve watched and read, a lot of it is centred around tech companies having too much power/wealth and Chinese companies listing on US exchanges right? China wants these companies listing on their own exchanges.

They also don’t want individuals accumulating too much wealth and are ultra protective on the cyber security side, while they and Russia conduct their own cyber warfare and information campaigns against Western/Euro countries.

Plus much of China's economy comes from debt-slaving other countries. I was in Kenya 2 years ago and half the country has Chinese contractors building infrastructure. That infrastructure is being built with loans from china that stipulate they must build the infrastructure with chinese contractors. Make money off interest of the loan, fuel their economy by giving work to their contractors, and the collateral on those loans? The gold and other natural resources in the land of Kenya and other african countries. It's literally a win, win, win situation. Pretty fuked up but has been going on for ages. U.S. is equally as guilty.

They also do not train the Africans to run the facilities themselves, if China ever decides they are done, so is Africa's Chinese infrastructure.

Africans have no leverage.

They are Chinese slaves.

Serious advice though, feature engineering goes a long way in the stock market. If you are pretty intelligent this will give you a serious advantage, more so if you couple it with Machine Learning. All commonly used indicators are just that, common. Pretty much every blog post, trading book, tutorial video, training class, etc., mentions and utilizes them, so you aren't very much different.

maybe with machine learning/AI HF trading.

but I would bet money more dollars have been lost than earned by retailers using macd/RSI divergence.

Sounds like a story as old as time. Everyone loves looting Africa.

Also would not touch Chinese stocks at all.
There is no edge buying these stocks when you're at the whims of the CCP.

Uh I agree with you man. The stock market is a constantly evolving zero sum game. Each loser has a respective winner who had greater intellect, greater strategy, etc. (with a bit of luck). MACD, RSI, etc., is used by everyone, you don't have a particularly notable advantage over anyone who knows what they are doing. Feature engineering is basically making your own indicators, and making relevant features that you can make consistent profit from is pretty difficult in simple terms.
