Crypto winter arrived a long time ago. Maximum hype arrived with with Safemoon and the Dogecoin nonsense.

I do think the next hype cycle will arrive quicker. ~1year possibly.

This is all part of the long term cycle game. I continue to hold regardless since 2017 and donโ€™t stress about timing chit.

I.e VET is at .000002 sats right now, was .000003 like a month ago and sold some them, will start buying back when it gets down to .0000015 to double my original bag with the same amount of BTC I sold for..or buy the original amount of VET I sold and keep half of the BTC, etc..

So Iโ€™ll trade my btc but Iโ€™m not confident in the altcoin prices right now to use any usd to fill my bags unless they get a lot closer to where they were in price back in January.
I've been holding out in 100% cash still...but i will admit i am starting to get slightly twitchy

I am hoping the musk interview with jack dorsey doesnt cause some fuked up reversal if elon says some mad bullish chit

If he doesn't, then i'll probably be comfortable waiting for another month or 2 to start DCAing
I'll see you on Mount Olympus

the best thing about bad times like these are when youre knee deep in the defi world. i wont be claiming any returns tonight because gas fees are quite ridiculous but you actually make really good returns in your token of choice if you have substantial capital to put on the table up front (just like in the traditional finance world). i never realized until i had time to actually study wtf defi was.

then the whole concept of "impermanent loss" which scared me sht less. but after extensive research, i feel that concept is overblown. unless youre emotional, jumpy, and quick to withdraw funds. all good if you intend to let that sht ride for a length of time. still have a lot to learn though so dont ask me sht. im a terrible source ol

as a guy who normally uses cold storage, security is probably my biggest concern, but i'll continue to learn, weigh, and risk manage that aspect. so far this is nice because my portfolio is in the trash can

Are you not using a ledger to sign your transactions? I use the brave wallet to interact with things like maker, bancor, and compound and when i move crypto into or out of the contract i sign with my ledger. Been doing it this way for almost 2 1/2 years with very few issues.

Impermanent loss is no joke, its pretty much equivalent of unrealised losses

I remember when i first provided liquidity for a chitcoin/eth and the chitcoin tanked to like nothing, i didnt realise you lose most of your eth as well.

Only way its not permanent is if the coins return to the price when you started providing liquidity.

100% accurate. I had a neighbor who would come by in around june2020 and ask about my ledger hardware. telling him i was balls deep in crypto. like EIGHT months later, he's telling me about he's throwing 5k at safemoon to double his money. I should have cashed out everything then. This happens EVERY cycle. Whenever you hear normies yolo'ing in projects it's time to pack up your bags and go home (stocks/real-estate)

I'm continuing to buy more eRSDL, as the team behind it and Q4 roadmap goals are pretty high quality (although I admit very few coins recover from steep dropoffs). And then just btc. Reading "The Bitcoin Billionaires" by Ben Mezrich (who wrote 21 and Social Network) convinced me of being a semi-maximalist

gotcha. maybe that's the connection that i havent made yet. i have been using metamask, and went with that. likely because it was all i saw in all of the reading and youtube videos that i poured over.
but now i should connect up some of my own general knowledge. i reason why i couldnt dust off my ledger for this. good call.

i have one pair the profit/loss dropped 66% over the past 24 hours. so yeah i can see how it can be crazy and probably requires babysitting the individual values of the pair. and make sure to distinguish price movement that was based on changes in token fundamentals versus a general market shift.

for me it's all about the token that is being farmed. it's most fun when your sole focus is getting as much of THAT token as possible.

AVA (that shiet changed my life...during the bear market. blows my mind)
ETH

SHIB
BONE

SHIB, yep, shiba inu...cant believe im saying it. is the ultimate dark horse. i dont even talk about it because it's laughed off as a meme coin. this coming from a guy who pukes when people pump meme coins.
BONE is just the governance token for SHIB which will be a monster in it's own right. im not going to mention it here much because SHIB has a terrible wrap as a meme, but it's going to eclipse UNI and Pancake due to the ecosystem that they are building

Really interesting to see how different everyone's fundamental selections are. Will be looking into all of them when i get some down time.

Will be cancelling all but my oldest credit card lines (for the credit score history) and strictly using my crypto.com debit card for purchases. The 5% "cash back" is really 5% back in CRO. That could compoundhugelyover a 2 or 3 year term if crypto.com continues to grow out its brand and ecosystem.

yeah i still need to look into CRO beyond what i already know (which is a bit more than surface level). and maybe crazy because i actually bought CRO and it will sit in the closet for a long time. i see wtf they are doing and it's smart. who knows how it will turn out, but they are certainly 100% going for it. and as i stated before coinbase has left the door wide open. and the market is going to SWELL over the next decade. which is why long term deals like the UFC partnership seem like money well spent to me

similar to you i do need to re-design my spending method. actually been meaning to buckle down and figure that our for a while now.
cash back in CRO.... omggggggg. that's one of those things that if you implement into your life now, the difference that it makes long term could be quite insane.

Why does everyone like VET? Isn't it a chinese coin?
Tokenomics are not great but its got some of the best use cases around in the supply chain industry

Think I may limit my bags to Eth, Btc, VET, One, and Ltc. Maybe solana or Mina for the moon shot

I'm not saying "look at me I got it right, i'm so smart" but i think in general as people should know by now, when every Tom, Dick, and Harry + Jamaal and Stacy all think it's a gold mine and can't lose....good indicator its peaked.
to be fair betaAF said "so even if there is a big market correction I don't think that the bull market is over." and i kinda agree. I don't think this is the end of this cycle. I think worst case we see the correction to 24700 to 26000 range and then we're pamping back up.

The grayscale unlock didn't do a ton of damage. The next date window to watch is last week of august. That's supposed to be some federal reserve meeting that some are predicting will crash the stock market, and we all know BTC goes as SPY goes more often than not. So i'm sitting in 50% cash until then. IF you went all cash in May though you're sitting really pretty. For me I would have needed to cash out in March if I wanted to keep 100% of my unrealized gainz. left 120k on the table. fuking hurts.

What marks the end of one cycle and the beginning of another? According to google a bear market is 2+ months of sustained downward trend. We have breached the 2 month mark and still going. If it switches back to a bull market i would imagine that will be a new cycle, not the same cycle. 1 bull + 1 bear = 1 cycle?
