We used to dirtbike in the Crowsnest Pass Alberta Canada , and the place where we often road was called the plane crash . There was this waterfall that came off the mountain and it was basically glacier water that was perpetually melting . Faurk lol , it was so cold it hurt your hands , but when you need a drink of water when you’re dirt biking in August it was to die for

why would you be afraid of the TV overheating when it's in the down position within the chassis and not turned on?
Good question. I went for very tight tolerances and the top only has 1mm of gap around its perimeter so there’s not a lot of air movement.I was thinking in the summer time that maybe when you put it back in its stored position that it may get hot in there as it cools off ?
My main concern was getting rinsed and accidentally leaving it on in the stored position, as I think that wouldn’t end well .
Srs though I probably could have gone with vents and it would have been fine , but the price of these Infinity fan kits are not bad so I said wft , just do it .But ya , it’s probably totally unnecessary. Heat is an oled killer though , as they don’t even recommend turning your oled tv on if the plastic film is still on the display.

Oh I should mention I watched the temperature increase 4 degrees when I put in stored mode . Will be interesting to see how much it increases in the summer time when it’s stored after running . But ya this is my ocd talking here lol

No unfortunately it’s one inch per second . Originally I wanted to build my own lift but with a faster linear actuator and guide rails that use bearing blocks like my iPad stand does.
This lift is pretty sweet but when it telescopes to the top it’s wobbly , so it leans a bit to the right and looks crooked if you look carefully.
It had no issue with the 48 oled but it does with the 55 .
I could put stoppers on the ceiling so that it moves it into position when it reaches the top , but I’m going to take my router and router out a section of the top and add a piece of steel as a counter weight to correct its accent .
Of course I’ll put filler in and repaint the lid so you don’t see it , but ya , with my bearing blocks idea I could make a much better version tbh . Just takes time and I’ve got too many things on the go to be scratch building a tv lift atm .
But I’d definitely use a linear actuator rated for 2-3 inches per second , but ideally acme rod and a stepper motor

How are you so adept at this type of work?
Really I’m literally good at fk all . I used to like James Bonds gadgets and it kind of stuck with me . Definitely a hands on person that likes to be creative , and I’m kicking myself for not choosing to be a machinist as a trade
