For most of Americans, $1000 per week is a much smarter decision.

$1M isn't actually that much money, and people who are financially retarded will blow through that in 2-3 years.

Problem with doing that is if the state goes broke they simply won’t pay it. Better to get it upfront and do something with it, because our government is broke.
