As a Slav, this is uncommon. Know lots of people who still live with their family, they only move out once married, or when they have a good career, but if single and with a good career, it's usually up to the individual... in most cases, the parents never kick them out just because they have a good career/job...

Its only when you get married...

I think it's just a myth in general, unless I'm missing something.

Italian American here and we don't get kicked out at 18 either. I knew a bunch of Irish American families, German American etc and they didn't kick out at 18 either. Maybe just anecdotal, idk. But I don't think I've ever heard of someone who wasn't a an absolute fuk up getting kicked out of their home by their parents.

That being said, I would absolutely want to be in a nursing home if I am not able to take care of myself srs. That is a burden that my kids should not have to bear.
