That's mainly a wasp thing aka white white thing.. where the parents want to kick the kids out the house as soon as possible. hence why nursing homes are full of white people.

Italian American here and we don't get kicked out at 18 either. I knew a bunch of Irish American families, German American etc and they didn't kick out at 18 either. Maybe just anecdotal, idk. But I don't think I've ever heard of someone who wasn't a an absolute fuk up getting kicked out of their home by their parents.
That being said, I would absolutely want to be in a nursing home if I am not able to take care of myself srs. That is a burden that my kids should not have to bear.
