All the things adults are supposed to learn to be successful, I did not learn, as I had no one to tech me that kind of stuff. My parents worked multiple jobs and they would go off to work before me and my brother woke up, and would be home late so I'd see them maybe an hour a day.

One day I decided I was tired of being broke, living in bad conditions, etc. So I made the necessary changes to fix my life. And that worked out beautifully. I'm 11 years in and I don't have to worry about bills anymore, or whether my card will be declined, or whether an accident or breakdown will leave me without a car. And honestly that makes life so much more enjoyable.
Great post, mane. I feel ya with that background - had single and nurse assistant mom. Had nothing but rent growing up. Was mad about it at 16, but later so grateful - all the nights she worked.

I don't blame my parents. They did what they could. And the things they didn't teach me they didn't know themselves. My goals are to do things better than they did for my children. And I look at them and what they have accomplished for motivation towards what I can achieve.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

Not really...There was another thread similar to this kinda where it asked about parents and any regrets, and I said I wish I would've spent more time with my parents who have passed. I watched the movie Magnolia a couple weeks ago, and that really hit in the feels......

Hope you're doing well Michelle :)

Nope.
Its just slowly gonna piss you off.
Theres that saying that most men live a life of quiet desperation. And thats the reality for most people who try to do exactly what you said in OP.

Often you need to hit a truly low point to start the change. Thats pretty fuked up but it is what it is.
I know if my life didnt get rucked in 2024. Im talking losing absolutely everything i had.
I would have never changed lmao.

If youre one of those people who can just change, without that low point. Good for you.
