Eh, I see what you're saying, but a 6 out of 20 chance of winning is much greater than a 1 out of 15. I think higher numbers may be more beneficial here, especially with such a wide variety of potential entries.

Please state why he'd make a good mascot, so he can be officially entered in the contest.

You're more than free to officially enter any of the guys you listed here into the contest, partner. They can't win if they're not submitted.

This is incorrect . Bert may still be present, but he will no longer be the mascot here. He's being replaced. This is something you're going to have to come to terms with.

Name: Dale

Description:

A rather eccentric character, Dale spends much of his time sorting packages for a popular parcel company. But when not engaged in the daily grind, Dale can often be found unsuccessfully trying to haggle down already discounted thrift shop CDs, or taking a shit in a porta-john with no toilet paper. He's a man of many talents as well. Talents which include popping hard-to-reach back-zits with pliers, spitting loogies at inhuman distances, and eating very large amounts of breakfast sausage in one sitting. Believing himself to be a "man's man," Dale has frequently refused to regularly engage in fairly basic personal grooming & hygiene practices, like brushing his teeth or clipping his toenails.

Why would he make a good mascot?

While Dale has repeatedly declined invitation to join the forum, he unquestionably embodies the spirit of the Misc. His social critiques & cultural frustrations often reflect that of the forum members here. And his comedic apathy & sarcasm towards life is something every poster would find both hilarity and common ground in. I personally believe Dale to be a perfect representation of the new era of Misc.

You're just not getting it, buddy boy. This is a legitimate contest. Bert IS being replaced. End of story. You can sit there in denial, with your finger in your ass, or you can figure out who you believe to be a suitable replacement and properly enter them into the contest.

Name: Dumsy Bell

Description:

As a young man, Dumsy was originally cast as a comedic rival to cartoon icon, Bugs Bunny. But due to the rampant backstage politics of the 1940s animation industry, he was let go a short while later without ever appearing in an episode. Since then, his efforts for television work have consistently fallen short. You may remember him from a 1960s Cheerios commercial, but unfortunately, his calls haven't been getting returned since then. These days, he makes a living at Planet Fitness, where he assists middle-aged housewives and obese single women in reaching their fitness goals and feeling more empowered in their daily living.

Why would he make a good mascot?

The Misc, at it's foundation, is still a bodybuilding forum. And Dumsy is a good representation of the fitness aspect here. He's also struggled through difficult times, paid his dues, suffered greatly, and I think becoming the official face of the Misc would be such an incredible redemption story. Something we all can look to for inspiration.

Imagine all the great content that would emerge if Dale actually became the mascot here. Understand, Bert content has been exhausted for over a decade. Where's the new Bert stuff??....It's was all made seventeen years ago. Nothing new coming out with Bert. It's time to move on.

If you Bert-lovers would get behind this, some good laughs could really be had.

Name: Walter

Description:

a very angry bitter old man that feels powerful and negs due to lack of fulfilment I life. very nasty individual. hard to get a long with and holds grudges for very, very long time. not easy to joke with takes everything very seriously sucks the fun out of the forum. complains about negativity but rarely if every brings positivity. negs repeatedly and consistently for no reason.

Why would he make a good mascot?

walter represents a certain loud minority of the forum who think they can decide what content is allowed. negs low reppers just for enjoyment and loves making users red. cares not what effort/time/thought low reppers put into their threads and only has 1-2 friends on the forum that is also high reppers and behaves accordingly

Current list of entries:

Lieutenant Latissimus (DonVonDuck)
Roberto Rabbit (MichelleLnne)
Getter the Gorilla (GuineaDago585)
Crispin Rider (BrosefMengele)
Sid Flass (DonVonDuck)
Dale (DonVonDuck)
Dumsy Bell (DonVonDuck)
Walter (LAHipster1)

I'll probably have four or five more entries of my own by the end of the week.  I'm really surprised that guys like Zyzz, Harambe & Johnny Bravo haven't yet been entered.  They all seem like very obvious choices to me.  Harambe especially seemed to have a lot of support pre-contest.  He hasn't yet been entered though.

Name: Kormo's Kidneys

Description:

Decades of frequent abuse & mistreatment have left Kormo's Kidneys in a rather unfortunate state. Barely clinging to life, each passing day is just another tragic reminder of the horrible hand they've been dealt. Every minute is a constant struggle. The pain is unbearable. The misery, neverending. This wasn't what they signed up for. This isn't the existence their parents had hoped for...And in spite of all this, Kormo somehow continues on. Completely unphased & indifferent.

Why would they make a good mascot?

It would be such a feel good story for the Misc. It really would, fellas. Yes, Kormo is a beloved member of the forum, but his lifestyle certainly isn't what anyone would call "conventionally healthy." Sedentary & gluttonous, I'm sure most of his organs have taken their share of abuse. But his kidneys in particular have really had a rough time over the years. And I think making them the official mascot of the Misc would bring a little sunshine to their rainy world.
