Not the same
He's a heavy smoker and if you watch other actors - I picked it in James Spader from some of his early work, to Boston Legal, to The Blacklist - as he got older his voice changed fairly noticeably.

Chappelle is still based as fuck but the Africa hiatus did what was probably expected - turned him into a more cynical older man who isn't down with the early style of shit he did - possibly because he was being paid a boatload of money to play a character, vs be himself and less of a sellout.
