Look, I wouldn't have done it. Killing Khamenei still does nothing to make the American people safer, but it's a very strong geopolitical win. Denying that is retarded. In the past year alone, Trump has already reshaped the Middle East in our favor and weakened Russia & China in the process. Practically every single Arab state has become a strategic ally.

Also worth noting that Trump is undefeated in his use of limited military operations. Every single one of them (Iran nuclear sites, Venezuela and today's Iran operation) was flawless in achieving the objective and suffering ZERO American casualties.

Not only is a huge symbolic feature, but he still holds a ton of power. He's the unifying factor, he is the order. Also, they believe that he had a lot of high level people with him when it got hit. So many of Iran's many high profile leaders have mysteriously been silent. Although not confirmed, for them to prove they are in tact is very important right now. The strategy of making us think we got them when we didn't is less of a strategy than to show they are in tact. For him to be like "missed me" would be so much more significant.

Right. People don't realize, despite his age, there is very likely no clear successor to Khamenei, especially if his closest officials were killed alongside him. The Iranian people were ready to overthrow their government a month ago before they executed thousands of protestors. All of Iran's allies have abandoned them.

Trump might've actually taken out the Iranian regime permanently in a single day without even taking one American casualty.

It would be complete incompetence on the Iranian leadership if they hadn't delegated/distributed power to others within Iran to continue doing the work (something they probably did many years ago)...
