This is one of those things I don't like about Trump, but he isn't the only one that does it. Remember COVID, how 2 weeks turned into 2 years but if Democrats had their way it would be 2 decades. The only reason it stopped is people got tired of it and they discovered their alarmism was a political negative for them so they moved on, but for a while they used it to pit people against one another.

Saying a military action will take two weeks, or 4 weeks, is just something that you can't say because there are so many things that can happen. By Trump saying it would take less than a month, it gives the Iranian government hope they can outlast the US. Just lasting longer than what he said is a little W for them. If he said "this might take years, as long as it takes, they wouldn't be able to hold onto hope. Not saying that would make them give up or whatever, but it's an element. WWII, we declared war after 12/7 and let Germany and Japan know it ain't over until someone is defeated, and then we started making moves to show we were in it until it was over.

No clear objective is a big reason approval is bottoming out. Trump was saying we won every day for like a week. Believe it or not public support is important for fighting a war. Especially when it's blatantly obvious that there's only two ways to end this. One is capitulate, which will never happen, and the other is to send in ground troops and start a real war that will kill a ton of people and still accomplish nothing.

Trump put himself in a box and there's no way out except the one way he will never escape.

Are goats in short supply today? Pakis and lightbulb heads both crashing out today. Taking out your sexual frustration by crying about other men in multiple threads isn't the way I'd handle it but then again I can't imagine how painful like is when you don't even crack 70 IQ.
