I hear you. McD's is the only place on that list that I ever visit though and that is for a rare breakfast order.

IMO, so many americans have this ego thing with coupons. "I work 40 hours a week, I should be able to order what i want at mcds without having to think about price!!" Then proceed to order $5 small fries, $5 6pc nuggs, and a $5 shake. 25% coupon off $10+ has been on the app for years now. You can get 20pc nugs for $5.59 on the app. $5 meal deal u can get all those if ur willing to get a mcchicken instead of nuggs. But nope, I work full time so I dont need it. No logic, just ego.

I dont think ive ever ordered what i want from the menu. Always got the best deal available. Growing up poor has trained me to be this way.

The people who have been stuck in the middle class since birth and never had to learn frugal spending are being rekt the most these days.

More clips here.

Near the start a guy says he had a salad w/4 strips of grilled chicken and a water at an Outback Steakhouse for lunch and they charged him $25.

Also a warning about restaurants charging random extra fees, often without disclosing the fees before you pay.

We went to a restaurant/bar on the upper west side in NYC the other day and the grilled chicken ceasar salad was over $30. Drinks were over $20. Some young girl that was sitting at the bar had the salad and a cocktail. So over $50 before tip for lunch. Who the hell can afford that? The place was crowded at 2:30 pm on a random week day and most of the people in there looked pretty young.

Wages better put a boot in it.

It doesn't even have any meat on it. For $8 I expect some chicken or steak at least.

So many people still pay these total rip-off prices for McSlop it’s mind blowing.

If we’re going to pay for g0yslop take out, we get it from this Chinese buffet, it’s like $6.99 a pound for take out and we just load up on protonz and then make rice at home to eat with it

People talk about oil/gas, but the Strait is affecting more than that. Fertilizer is getting more and more expensive, and farmers can't keep up. This Iran war is screwing up a lot of things..

This is just the beginning, too btw, the damage will be felt for some time caused by the Strait of Hormuz shutdown

Some things all of us need in the future:

1. Get good at cooking and learn about proper nutrition.

2. Get some backyard chickens, free eggs, good compost control.

3. Learn to compost

4. Learn to grow at least some produce in your backyard or patio.

Cant remember the last time i bought eggs, tomatoes, spinach or zuchinis.

I was telling the kids (20 and 22) about this receipt yesterday and how I used to get a good lunch for $3 no problem. Wendy's was the best- choice of 2 burgers, nuggets, chili, baked potato, 2 different salads all on their $1 menu. This was at least through 2001 or 2002.

Cooking at home still beats eating out at least 6 times out of 10. Depends on what you are buying/making and how many servings you can use. Some meals take a lot of ingredients that add up quickly.

Today's video is grocery purchases.

I have seen several videos of people at Walmart showing that the weight of a food item listed on the package is false when you check it on their scales. I didn't know that they already lost a class action lawsuit over selling underweight products.

I also didn't know that Dollar Tree bumped all their food items up to $1.50. That's pretty shitty of them IMO since the majority of their food was already overpriced based on unit pricing because in many cases they sell items in smaller than standard sizes. He mentions specifically canned goods which cost less than $1.50 at some other stores.

I will say I have seen around $2 though on canned goods in some grocery stores and that is one that really gets me...I mean how is one can of corn or beans $2?!
