For any social environment to flourish you need to establish some standards to keep the undesirables out, otherwise it will just become a cesspool run by the undesirables because nobody else will want to hang out around them.

Traffic is still a little low. Whenever I go to the bottom of page 2 on the threads list, the last post is sometimes 12 hours ago.

Back in glory days of misc, at the same time of day, that last post on page 2 would have been maybe 15 mins ago.
