People saying don't be poor that works for your immediate living area. But if you want to do activities, like going to see a concert/sports event or any number of other public areas you'll still be forced to be around them unless you live in one of those places previously mentioned at the beginning of the thread like Montana or Maine.
Being able to segregate them out of your immediate vicinity is still helpful to reduce fatigue though so you're less likely to run into them for daily routines like the grocery store or going to the gym.

Maybe try not living in the southeast.
