Reddit is the only place with focused forums that are really active anymore, but the community is an absolute cesspool and full of bots and government/big tech psyop. There is no decent general community subs there, no real sense of community.

The hobby subs are pretty good for the most part. But in terms of communities you don't really communicate or interact with the same regulars like you would on a forum. I also like Instagram, but the reels can really be braindead garbage most of the time. The internet in general kind of sucks now
