I see thin, healthy walkers consistently in my neighborhood and overweight people attempting to jog once and then never leaving the couch again. Walking doesn't make you fit, but it's a useful tool to improve your fitness level when coupled with an overall healthy lifestyle. It's not like bodybuilding, power lifting, or even crossfit will make you fit if you can't get a handle on what you shovel into your face.

fine, but walking still does not make you fit, it is not fitness.

healthy people may walk, but walking is not an impitus to fitness

it may get you to a point where you can engage in actual fitness activities, but that's it

When I had a gym membership I used to ride stationary cycles for 45 minutes for 9 or 10 miles. I have a beach cruiser, but I got solid rubber tubes installed, and they don’t go up hills easily, and I live in a hilly area.
If you’re born to the iron, you’ll know it the first time you lift!

I mean if you start sweating and breathing hard and push yourself, yes. If you roll around the neighborhood enjoying the day, not so much.

I agree with this. Walking alone doesn't make you fit unless we're talking about rucking and strenuous hiking, which we aren't. It amounts to better than sitting on the couch.

Great point about helping people get to doing actual fitness activities. For someone trying to become fit, building consistency at walking is a lower obstacle to overcome than starting a jogging or serious resistance training routine on muscles, joints, and lungs that aren't ready for it.

I will do heavy ass hammer curls until the day I die. Nothing is more badass looking than having popeye forearms

it also helps when u need to strangle someone or deliver a right hand from hell (or a left)

Giving up lifting in general? Never. That's not really fitness though I couldn't run a mile but I could leave anyone in a cloud of dust in a 100m sprint

I've given up/come back on a regular basis. Trying to be better with food and so on seems easier though - no need to give up there - so many yummy things you can still cook and learn about. Thinking keto-ish.

With the access you can get these days to test, anavar, growth hormone and/or secretagogues and other peptides there is no excuse for being fat and not being able to lose it if you are training correctly.

Maybe you should give up though if it worries you that much.

As much as I can't fathom quitting fitness, I'm sure that if I were in a situation that I consider unfathomable I could find quitting to be the sensible choice

I hope that day never comes, but tomorrow's never promised brah
Have fun and be yourself :-)

I’m not actually planning on giving up
