AI is also a great excuse to fire American workers and bring in H-1B Indians. Every time you hear of thousands of workers being laid off, you will also see the same company filing petitions for more H-1B.

Very few people are losing their jobs due to AI. The reason people are losing their jobs is because interest rates rose and all of the extra Covid hires need to be laid off, and they need a convenient cover for it.

So far big tech has around the same number of employees

They laid off thousands but have replaced them with thousands of h1b visas

Business LOVE AI because they can blame AI for their layoffs and people just accept it because it seems inevitable
