IMO he was always above AVG. not captain material but somone who always produced somewhat. a A captain . Like you said though he has gotten more important as a player over time which is rare, crosby is similar but he was more stable overall over his career.

They are buddies and train together in the summer.

The difference in strength and skill level is insane tho.
