If I could live anywhere in the U.S. it would be Coconut Grove followed by Huntington Beach.

It’s amazing that Canadians like myself see Florida as a tropical paradise tourist destination yet it’s just everyday life for some miscers.

Love Florida.

They are all over, but yeah the east coast fishery is hotter for Mahi than the West. West coast florida's continental shelf extends way out and makes the Gulf shallower on the west coast than east coast. This means you have to motor for 40-50 miles to get to 100+ft deep water off of Tampa, while off of East coast its a 10 minute boast ride. Pelagics, like mahi, like that blue water, so its mostly an east coast game.

West coast has better inshore fishing (snook, tarpon, redfish, sea trout, triple tail, mangrove snapper, gag grouper, red grouper, stone crabs, flounder, sheepshead). East coast you better have a boat, west coast you can be poor and still catch trophies.

Crazy

Some Canadians literally spend their entire lives wage slaving until 65 so they can spend 6 months of the year living in Florida.

Living in Florida is the ultimate life goal for some Canadians lol

To be fair, it's not a bad drive if you go and visit once or twice a month and I'd rather live where the demographics map says it's safer.

Das it mane.

I've been told by a few people that the Atlantic shelf is the sweet spot for them in late April through May. I would love to catch a shit ton of then to pack out my deep freezer.

Correct. Deep drop or hunt mahi along the patches.
