I do like to use that special squat bar now and again. Its feels 'harder' than a normal squat, but in the best way. I have to really drop the weight though as have to focus more on balance and not toppling over!
Cook the man some eggs!

Ya I suspect it’s going to feel a bit weird for sure . The part I don’t like is it’s putting the weight way too far up because of the padding .
Will definitely be interesting to see how if feels this evening.
My hand has improved, so I can still use a conventional bar also . Maybe mix it up a bit

Well I really thought I was going to break records but just the opposite. I barely got 135-6 today and last time I got 145-10 with my straight barbell?
I did however take one more day off than normal . I usually hit the same muscle group every forth day , but this is day 5 .
Also I did really high reps on my leg press hack squat machine last time , so I’m wondering if that fked things up ?

Anyways for the most part the experience wasn’t bad , but ya as you mentioned I noticed balancing seemed a little weird on the first sets after being used to a straight bar .

How does the SSB feel compared to a normal barbell? I heard that the SSB makes you tilt forward more.

Ya I noticed that too. It’s so easy on my hands and wrists , but definitely feels a bit alien. You can literally let go of it completely if you wanted to , as it just kind of sits on your shoulder and neck .
Tbh I prefer my straight squat bar and I’ll definitely be rotating between the two as my hand improves. I’m not disappointed by any means with the purchase, as variety and change is always nice

One drawback is how high it sit’s on your body compared to a conventional bar . I can definitely feel more compression on my spine , even at 135 pounds .

Dropped the weight down a bit and had better results . Rookie numbers I know , but I’m not 64 anymore
